Why 93 Octane in a GDI engine if it isn’t called for?

I’ve read where people look to control intake valve deposits in GDI engines by using 93 octane top tier gas … Unless your GDI engine calls for 93 octane gas - how is this supposed to help?

Mobil 1 5W30 EP Ability to Reduce Wear ?

I suppose the same for the Castrol 5W30 and Quaker State 5W30 extended 20K drain interval oils - are you giving...

    5W20 Under 45 Degrees F. ?

Say you live in the PNW and your air temps have a limited winter range (20 degrees F. to 45 degrees F ) for suburban driving conditions. For a Kia Seltos 2.0L non - turbo MPI engine - do you just stay with a D1/Gen 3 5W30 or drop down to the same in a 5W20 (or even a 0W20 ?) for 6 months / 4K...

M1 5W30 vs Valvoline Advanced Wear Protection ?

While M1 5W30 is a fine oil , I like the fact that Valvoline Advanced 5W30 has a large amount of moly (approx. 2.5X to 3X more than M1 ) but then I started thinking : “Just how much moly is enough over a 4K mile OCI” ? Is it possible that although M1 shows a lower amount of moly in a VOA versus...
