OK, so who actually manufactures the Oil? I already tried the Wal Mart link. Zilch info on Super Tech oil that I could find.

That brings up a good question. What is the difference between "High milage" oils and regular motor oils?

Who makes Wal Mart Super Tech oil?

I thought I read here (sometime back) that if the bottle has a W on the bottom, then Warren made the oil. Recently I had a question about Super Tech (Air compressor) oil and couldn't get an answer from W-M. The bottle had a W on the bottom, so I emailed my question to the Warren company. Their...

    Another Air Compressor oil question

OK, the Wal Mart Super Tech air compressor oil is ISO-100. My compressor needs 30W according to the handbook. I've noted while searching the net for info that there are other weights of compressors oils. Is ISO-100 a 30W? Thanks.

    Another Air Compressor oil question

What is PCMO? I'm not very up on this stuff. I bought a bottle of Wal Mart brand Super Tech Compressor oil. But it doesn't give the oil weight on the bottle. Does anyone know what it is? Will it be OK for my compressor? Thanks

    Another Air Compressor oil question

I just bought the 10 gallon oil type air compressor from the Harbor Freight catalog. The manuel says to use "30W Compressor oil". Is there a difference between "compressor oil" and Motor oil? If not, should I use straight SAE30 or 10w-30 ? Any advantage/disadvantage to using synthetic? Thanksin...

    Radiator Flush question

My wife bought a cupon book from a local auto dealership that offers several "free" services. Oil changes, tire balancing/rotation and a radiator flush. However the radiator flush isn't exactly "free". We have to pay for the chemical used and the fresh coolant added. A cost of approx $30. My...

    Oil change question

I was strongly concidering going to 10w-40 before, due to oil consuption. It's not bad, I drive the truck about 300 Hwy miles each week to/from work. It uses about a Qt about every 10-14 days. Tailpipe still looks good (not black & gummy) and I can find no leaks on the engine. No spts on the...

    Oil change question

I'm kind of from the "Old School". We ran 10W-30 until the engine began to use oil, then upped the weight to 10w-40. So that's where I'm coming from in my decision process. Is there a better way? What info would you need?

    Oil change question

I decided to use synthetic oil in my high milage '88 Ford F-150 (3.9 striaght 6 w/5sp OD). Had been using Penssoil 10W-30. Went to Wal Mart Supertech 10W-30 Synthetic. THe engine has been well maintained, but had begun to use some oil w/the Pensoil. I figure it might use a liitle more w/the...

Synthetic oil in High mileage engine

1 week and so far, so good. No leaking or comsumption that I've noticed. And some lifter noise that I had on start up is gone.

Synthetic oil in High mileage engine

What's the issue w/leaks? Will syntetic cause worse leaks? Any other problems I might need to be aware of?

Synthetic oil in High mileage engine

My understanding is the synthetic oils offer better lubrication, so I'm thinking this may extend my engine life. Engine does use some oil. Leaks alittle, probably burns some. About a qt. every 2-3 weeks. Mostly highway miles w/average of 300 miles per week.

Synthetic oil in High mileage engine

My '88 F-150 w/4.9 FI-6 has about 160K miles on it. I've been using Pensoil 10W-30 and I'm thinking of switching to a synthetic oil. Probably Wal Mart Super Tech for the price. Is this ok for a high milage engine. Thanks.

    Oil additives to remove sludge

We have a '92 Olds Bravada w/over 200K miles on a V-6 engine. We have kept the engine fairly well maintained w/reglar oll changes and it has had no major problems and uses very little oil. However I have noticed that the oil becomes very dirty looking in a short time after an oil change. I...

    VAG 1.8t sludge problem

We have a '92 Olds Bravada w/over 200K on the V-6 engine. We have kept it well maintained and it has had no major engine problems and uses no oil. However I have noticed that the oil become very dirtly looking, very quickly. Easily within 1k miles after oil change. I assume this is due to slugde...
