    STI Sports Oil filter

I was stupid enough to buy some. http://imgur.com/a/ab7wK Anyways... Who wants to dissect it? I'm willing to ship one oil filter for free to someone who promises to cut it open and analyze it thoroughly (I'm NOT the person for this task!)

Oil recommendation for 2002 Subaru Outback 2.5L

The EJ25 Phase II engines (the first of the SOHC EJ25 engines) are known to have external head gasket leaks. It is highly recommended you run the Holts Radweld/"Subaru Cooling System Conditioner" to seal the minor coolant seepage. If you do put it in, read the directions carefully. Once you put...

    Upgrading components

I personally believe upgrading is a waste of money. It's much cheaper to buy a bike with the components you want rather than buying new components individually and paying someone else to install them... But if you purchase discounted or used components, that's a bit different. I have a...

Oil reccomendation for 2011 NA Subaru Forester

Since you just got the 2011 Forester (which I presume is the 2.5X, non-turbo), I would stick to the manufacturer-recommended 0W-20 viscosity. Now if you do have special driving conditions, the owners manual might indicate the use of a different viscosity. The FB25 engine in the 2011 and newer...

    New Subaru Oil Filter 15208AA130

So, has anyone confirmed if it's made by Tokyo Roki?? When I took a look at the FB25's engine bay in a 2011 Forester some months ago, I was relieved to see the black oil filter back. Don't think it is compatible with EJ engines though. Actually, I'm going to ask Subaru of America right now.

In MI, warn people to avoid...

All these "****ty" oils should be generally avoided for our newer vehicles with EFI and such but I do know they have specialty uses, such as older machines, pumps, etc. Shame though that people out there just buy whatever oil and not realize what potential harm could be done.

How often do you check your oil??

I check it every fuel stop. Of course, I check it AFTER filling up. But sometimes, if I'm bored somewhere with my car, I'll check it on a level surface.
