winter weight oil for coleman powermate generator

I have a 10 year old Coleman Powermate generator with a 10 hp Tecumseh 4 cycle engine. Up until now it has only been used in warm weather and the manufacturer specified 30 weight oil has worked fine. I now want to be able to use the generator in winter weather but I cannot locate the owners...

    CONVENTIONAL OR SYNTHETIC

My 2009 Mazda6(6 cyl) has about 70,000 miles on it. I have always used the factory recommended 5w20 conventional oil, but now am considering switching to a full synthetic oil. Should I stay with the 5w20 or is there any benefit to using a 0w20. I live in Michigan and winter weather is on its...

Does DEXOS1 meet all current and previous GM specs

Both Mobil 1 0w-40 and Mobil 1 5w-30 are now Dexos1 approved. Is it, therefore, correct to assume that both can be used in the same vehicle as long as the viscosity being used is approved by the manufacturer? The 5w-30 has the GM Service Fill, GM 4718M and GM 6094M, while the 0w-40 doesn't...

    Right oil, wrong viscosity?

My son purchased a new 2010 Saab93 last year and took it to a local GM dealer for the initial oil change at about 5K miles (he doesn't drive a lot). Due to Saabs financial situation the vehicle now has no warranty and the free oil changes are no longer free. The dealer used 5W-30 Mobil 1 oil...

Just took delivery of a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox. The vehicle care section in the owners manual states "In the event that dexos approved engine oil is not available at an oil change....., you may use substitute engine oil displaying the API Starburst symbol and of SAE 5W-30 viscosity grade." If I...

    Wrong oil ?

So, is it the opinion of you learned posters that there should be no problem with using the M1 0w30 even though it does not have the required GM specs?

    Wrong oil ?

That was my question. Manufacturers specs require GM LL-A-025 certification. Mobil 1 0w30 does not have this certification. Only Mobil 1 0w40 carries this spec. I thought that because this is a turbo engine, the GM LL-A-025 was required.

    Wrong oil ?

My son has a 2006 Saab 9-3 with the 2.0 engine. He recently moved to Denver, CO and upon arriving took his car to a local garage that services " a lot of Saabs". The manufacturer requires 0w40 or 0w30 oil. To make a long story short, the wizards at the garage filled his engine with Mobil 1 0w30...
