Coffee straight out of the can, not used, is very good at absorbing odors. I would put the jacket with fresh ground coffee in a closed container, for a few days. I haved removed odors from some dresser drawers this way.
This is something I have never tried, but have been told by several people that it works. Heat the thread very hot and then apply parafin to the joint, and then let it cool. Then it comes apart like magic.
I have used seafoam in my two stroke engines for years. 2 oz. per gallon of oil gas mixture. Instead of 6 to 8 pulls to start it is 2 sometimes 3 pulls.
many years ago I installed an oil temperature gauge in my car. At that time I was able to buy the sending unit for the gauge that replaced the oil drain plug.
I bought multigrade lubrizol motor oil by the case from Downers Grove Auto Parts in Ilinois. My best guess is that this was in the 60's, maybe in the 70's.
I had the idea that knurling the piston increased the diameter of the piston so that it fit tighter in the cylinder. Rather than buy oversize pistons you increased the size of the old ones.
