this was actually the least expensive (@13.97?) prior to bumping into the valvoline maxlife.

Valvoline Max Life syn-blend 10w-40 is ACEA A3, at least according to the big bold statement on the back of the 5qt bottle I picked up yesterday at wallyworld.
their 10w-30 only made ACEA A1.
btw.. this is the first syn-blend I've seen rated ACEA A3 and of course as such the least expensive...
