    Highlander

Thanks for the input, I'll check those out as well. Haven't been luck enough to find a set of cheap rims for dedicated winter tires.

    Highlander

I've owned the highlander for 10yrs, has 93,000 miles on it. Changed the 1st set of tires at 30k to GY assurance they were fine but wore out after 30k miles. Put the firestones on then & after 34k miles almost down to the wear bars. Rotated both at every oil change which was 5000 miles, also had...

    Highlander

I've been looking on tire rack, maybe that's my problem way too many choices. I had RT43's on my old work car, they only lasted 30,000 miles of highway driving. Not impressed at all or buying again. I've had GY Assurances on the Highlander, not a bad tire but didn't last either. Leaning towards...

I have an '06 Highlander 4wd that will be needing new tires soon. Firestone Destination Le2 are on it now. What would be a good all-season tire for nw iowa weather?

Which one - 2011 Outback vs 2012 CRV?

Interesting replies, thanks. My current 04' chevy classic has 206,000 miles on it, still runs good but just thinking what a good replacement for it might be.

Which one - 2011 Outback vs 2012 CRV?

Looking at a 2011 outback with 54,000 ($16,950) and a 2012 crv-awd with 63,000 ($15,975) Which one of these would last to 200,000 miles plus with regular maintenance etc as a daily driver 80 miles highway not interstate in Iowa? Thanks.

    UPDATE: RT43-driving in the snow!

4cyl, in deep snow it could have more traction but then if it's deep I should have driven my 4wd truck instead.

    OC reset

I looked in the book but can't seem to find how to reset the MaintReqd light of a 2006 Toyota highlander. Does anyone know how that's done? Thank!

    Cartridge filters

How many miles can one expect to go on one of these 5-10K. Using wix 57082 or napa's on a chevy classic 4cyl with 142k on it, 5-30 M1-EP oil. It's changed spring & fall with about 18k a year. Are puralator 15436 any good? Just curious.

    E15 Approved By Feds :(

It's all controlled by who's spends the most on lobbiests and by the price of gas it shows doesn't it. Ethanol or not we pay thru the nose. Didn't Henry Ford's first engines run on alchohol because gas was so expensive at that time??

    Throttle body

Thanks for the replies, just want to keep this car running to 200,000 miles. It's my work car, I've done t-bodies on v6 & v8's but the shroud on this one looks very different than I'm used to. The plugs and tranny have all been changed at 100,000. Still get 32-34 for mileage so can't complain.

    Throttle body

Does or has anyone cleaned a throttle body on an '04 malibu classic with the 2.2 4l engine? Is it pretty simple or not? I have 129,000 miles on it and it probably needs a little cleaning. Where's the pcv valve at? Thanks for the help.

    Corn ethanol subsidy killed

Where would one rather have the subsidy money go to, someone in the usa or elswhere? I heard on the radio the blender subsidy was 16billion and the oil companies subsidies is between 75-200 billion but no one knows the exact figure for the oil companies. With the 16 trillion debt who cares anyway.

    Spark plug

Think I'll pull one when I have some time in the next few weeks just to see what they look like. It does start a little hard but it doesn't get driven everyday, once a week maybe if needed. Thanks for the replies.
