Any car owners with bypass and huge mileage?

Sorry for the delay (4 years) in replying. The engine is the 3.8. I'll have to post my update video someday. I can't remember if I mentioned it in one of my previous posts but in January of 2014 at 517,000 miles I was replacing the leaky valve cover gaskets and I noticed the valve train on the...

Fixing Bad Catalytic Converters With P0420

I had seen the video of Scotty running a gallon of paint thinner in the tank but I didn't try it. Instead, I ran two cans of Berryman B-12 on a 1/4 tank of gas but it didn't do enough to shut off the check engine light.

Fixing Bad Catalytic Converters With P0420

I just cleaned my 15 year old factory fitted catalytic converter using the citric acid/oxalic acid heated to 150F for about 5 hours method and to my surprise, it worked! It cleaned up the honeycomb inside the cat quite nicely. All the light grey carbon is gone leaving clean metal on the inside...

My Wix analysis is taking forever!

I take mine to the local CAT service center in Bloomington MN and they do it within 24 hours. Amsoil used to take about two weeks and they're just up the highway from here. I understand your frustration

Any car owners with bypass and huge mileage?

Ok, I finally hit 500,000 miles on the 1999 Grand Caravan. I shot a video of the odometer turning over from 499,999 to zero. Yup, it went to zero! I thought it would go to 500,000 but maybe Chrysler didn't expect these vehicles to make it to 500K. Here's the link to the video...

Any car owners with bypass and huge mileage?

I've been coming to Bob's since early 2005 and after reading all I could I decided to put a Motorguard bypass on my 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan. At the time it had 200K miles on it. I am the original owner and up to that point I had used Amzoil and Mobil 1 with factory filters with an occasional...

looking for aux transmission filter solution

Thanks unDummy, I just went out to the shop and peeled off the label and was able to see the seam. I never knew! So I put it in the chuck on the lathe and with a light turn of a pipe wrench, it unscrewed. Cool. I was able to see all of the super tiny shavings, almost a black silver mush all...

looking for aux transmission filter solution

I'm running a Magnafine and a Trasko plumbed into the tranny cooler line. I can't remember exactly how I set it up right now and it's too cold outside to go have a look but it's been working fine like this since April of 2005. A little info on my vehicle. I'm the original owner of my beloved...

    What is your longest OCI?

I did run a 180 thermostat since about 5K and it came with the towing package, so that and along with lots of 20-30K tranny pan drops and the every 100K full flush of trans fluid. I guess all that has paid off. Cross fingers for another 84K to 500K!

    What is your longest OCI?

Hi fredjackson and courierdriver, I'm not sure how you do those replies with the boxes inside of the reply but I'll see if this works. Yes, I wanted to put this on the Allpar site as I am the orriginal owner and can provide docs to prove the insane amount of miles on this van. I had it in to...

    What is your longest OCI?

I probably added about 15-18 quarts...didn't really keep track. I like that I never had to crawl underneath the van and then take the used oil to be recycled, I would just change out the TP and add the new oil and be down the road.

    What is your longest OCI?

Last year I went 53,000 miles before changing the oil. The vehicle is a 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.8 litre motor. It had 350K on it at the time I started this super long oil change. The engine also has a Motor Guard bypass on it. At the start of this oil change, back on Feb 15 2008, I used...

Oil analysis have any real impact??.

I like to use oil analysis because it tells me things I can't see. A few years ago I had a broken intake manifold bolt and coolant was leaking into the oil. Of course I couldn't see the coolant getting into the oil but when the analysis came back I went on the hunt for the cause and found the...

The Regane / Sea Foam / Lubromoly treatment...

A little story of water cleaning gone bad. In the summer months I would get a ping or a knock with the A/C on. I figured it was a carbon build up problem. The vehicle is a 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan with 340,000 miles on it. Yes, you read that right, 340K Miles. Original engine and tranny...

Has anyone ever experienced problems using ARX?

I'm just a customer and have no affiliation with Auto RX, Frank or his company. I was a bit of a skeptical when I first heard of Auto RX, but since I've used it I'm no longer a skeptic. Here's the email I wrote to Frank Miller, the inventor of Auto RX. Hello Frank, I've got a quick story for...

Hello from frigid Minnesota. I am just a few days away from starting the rinse cycle on the Auto-RX and it is darn cold here and will be for the next couple of months. It's 10 below zero outside right now. Can anyone recommend a suitible rinse oil that will work well with the Auto RX in a...
