    Toyota teases the 2025 4Runner

Another example of the absolute mess that is hybrid packaging. 30 years of hybrids and even Toyota can’t figure out what to do with batteries. In this case (and the Land Cruiser) you lose a very significant amount of cargo space because they’re installed on the rear floor area.

Starship liftoff planned for Thursday, April 20

Turns out… “current design” Starship is only capable of 40-50 tons to orbit vs. the 100-150 tons they initially claimed. They need another bigger version “V2” to get to 100 tons and yet another bigger V3 to get to 200 tons. For reference, SLS Block 1, which has already flown around the moon...

    2024 Silverado EV W/T - 450 miles EPA range

Rustic Ring towing test. Summary, Silverado EV did far better than Cybertruck. Cybertruck not only had regen issues downhill with the trailer, the Cybertruck had issues with regen without the trailer when acting as a camera car for this test. (37:45) Zero issues with Silverado EV

“Out of Spec” EV Truck 2,500 mile Race

500 mile towing test over the Rockies. Silverado EV 4WT destroyed them all. It only needed one charging stop over 500 miles and climbing the mountains twice. Cybertruck was last due to it’s poor range and even worse charging.

No, unfortunately 😄. The guy running Out of Spec (Kyle Conner) did a spoiler on The Smoking Tire podcast today. They were apparently trying to keep it a secret. Chevrolet Restarts Sales of Blazer EV after 12 week halt due to Software, price incentive too

I’m basing that guess on the Equinox EV. The AWD Equinox EV models are a $3,300 premium over the FWD models. As far as I can tell the FWD and AWD Blazer EV and Equinox EV have the exact same motors and battery. Seems plausible to me the price differences would be the same. Thats just my guess...

Chevrolet Restarts Sales of Blazer EV after 12 week halt due to Software, price incentive too

I might be wrong on this package thing. The Blazer EV forums are saying GM sent owners a letter saying they’re getting a ~$5,600 check as payback over these price drops. I can’t imagine they’d do that if the new lower price was mostly a decontented car...

Chevrolet Restarts Sales of Blazer EV after 12 week halt due to Software, price incentive too

The Build function isn’t active right now - I’m guessing they’re updating it. But I’d guess a large part of the price drop is in packaging. That old $56k LT price included almost $4,000 in required packages. A 2025 LT with a NACS port might be a nice vehicle. Price should drop another ~$3,300...
