Chevy Colorado's can be had for cheap in the four-cylinder with auto range. Not sure of your budget but I have seen on lots priced between 7-8 with warranties. Consistent above 20 mpg's as well.

x2 on the OEM filter. They are high quality at a reasonable 5 bucks at my dealer. Plus, I think that there was a TSB about using aftermarket filters causing a knock type noise.
