Electrical outlet wrapped in electrical tape

All splices are twisted, soldered and taped too. PITA.

Electrical outlet wrapped in electrical tape

Code is arc fault in any new construction bedrooms or living spaces I think. A GFCI outlet or breaker is adequate if not better than a simple grounded outlet, for protection from shock on ungrounded circuits. My house has mostly the old two prong outlet in most places. Antiques at 1960 date.

Electrical outlet wrapped in electrical tape

I use to do it at work because we seldom killed the power when opening a box to troubleshoot. And always with metal boxes it's a must IMHO.

Electrical outlet wrapped in electrical tape

I have actually seen this happen with my own outlets in the garage. Ground down will make the cord sagging down easier.

    Quirky features on your cars?

I had a Altima rental about 5 years ago that had a low tire. TPMS told me the pressure and which tire. It was very cold and windy out as I got in and saw the warning. Got the hose out and started filling and first the car honked, then it flashed the lights twice and honked. The pressure was...

    The Animal Shelters Are Full...

The local Humane Society shelter I went. It was a private home and they must have had over 15 dogs running loose in the house. I was turned down as I would be leaving the dog alone while I went to work. Something I had been doing with dogs and cats for decades. I was convinced the person was...

    The Animal Shelters Are Full...

I've had several adopted dogs over the years but the last 5 years the applications for adoption are unrealistically invasive privacy wise anymore so I quit. A lot are 10 pages of info they want. Then you don't hear back from them. What do they do with the info? It's almost like a child...

2015 Altima no start key fob issue - Help!

On Hyundais the problem seems to be slight bit of corrosion on the fuses controlling the key recognition and always hot base system. Happened to me with my PB start Gen Coupe and also on the older Accent for the radio. The fuses check out as good but if you notice any difference in voltage on...

    2013 Hyundai Santa Fe 2.0T - Amsoil 5w30 vs 5w40 vs 0w40

The issue with my 2L turbo, though not the same engine, is fuel dilution. So a heavier oil last a bit longer. I went 5k on 5w30 and oil test always came back OK but fuel dilution. It will make oil over 5k mile OCI and be about a1/8 -1/4 quart over full.

Putting gravel over lawn - any landscape experts?

It's not so much the plants getting below the gravel to root as it is sprouting and growing in the gravel as a medium.

How accurate is the indicated MPG in your vehicle?

My Gen Coupe was off quite a bit and so were the odo and speedo. I put one inch taller tires on it and the speedo is near dead on. Odo off by 5% and the mpg is usually half a gallon high. Much better than it was originally.
