GM terrain uses oil since new

FWIW, I had a 2002 Acura RSX Type S that used 1 quart every 1,500 miles and Honda Motor wouldn't touch the car, saying it's within the standard limit of 1 quart every 1,000 miles. You don't have an issue with the engine, IMO.

So, low TBN after x amount of miles, or high wear metals aren't indicative of an oil's performance?

You guys have entirely too much time on your hands. I apologize for not wording a question with correct, scientific terms.

    VW 507 oil...quick run down

I find searching this forum a bit troubling because of the specific terms it sometimes doesn't recognize. (I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, another topic) Anyway, as far as 507 oils, is there any stellar performing ones? I'm leaning toward LiquiMoly, but I'm open to anything and everything...

The 7,500 mile Oil Myth ?

Those of us in a OEM warranty aren't able to perform extended OCIs, or I would be. That's why I asking if there is ANY benefit to using a synthetic for 3,750 mile OCIs?

    2012 Genesis 3.8L V-6 w/HIGH silver

Alright thanks, Ed. Switching to PP just out of curiosity. I won't be able to have a UOA done until I return back from the deployment I'm about to leave on (~6 months). Until then, I'll just tell the wife to take the car to the dealer for conventional oil change every 3,750. :-(

The 7,500 mile Oil Myth ?

According to my owner's manual for my Hyundai Genesis, it's almost impossible to not fall under the severe category. Calls for 3,750 mile oil and filter changes as well. (7,500 miles for "normal") The oil requirements for our Genesis does not mandate a synthetic, so I presume this is one of...
