Pretty sure what you have is a similar 2.4 engine for Kia/Hyundai/Mitubishi/Chrysler...which uses 5w20. Mine seems to like Pennzoil the best, always quiet. Mobil and Valvoline good too, just not as quiet in my experience with this motor. My 2 cents. GL

My 270 Jimmy inline 6 with flat tappets gets Castrol HM 10w30 in winter and Rotella or Traveller 15w40 in summer. A good quality diesel oil works great in old inline 6 motors.

Interesting you say that. I put Havoline DS 5w20 in and it does seem quiet. I bought Rotella GasTruck but not used it yet. My next change will be the Valvoline Synthetic 5w20.

My first car was a 1980 with the 2.3 engine. I used 10w30 all the time. The engine was an oil burner....about 1 quart per month. Beat the heck out of that car and engine, but it kept going. Keep an eye on the timing belt.

0w20 all the way. Just as equally important on this 1.5 and 1.8 engines: make sure you run a quality gas name and fuel system cleaner every couple of months. They are prone to spark plug fouling and coil failure.

The PCV valves go bad in Dodge Ram V-8 engines from the 2000's era trucks. Change it. They are cheap plastic & usually will break when you change them out. Easy fix and inexpensive. Also, are you sure this is the 5.7 Hemi and not the 4.7 V-8 motor? The 4.7 is prone to water/coolant...
