Would blackstone oil analysis tell me if used gear oil was yellow metal safe?

I'm going to replace the gear oil in the transmission/transfer case on my dad's '63 CJ5. No one knows when it was changed since it was originally my grandfather's. To give you an idea, the differential oil was black. It doesn't see much use and only drives around the farm. I noticed driving it...

Oil additive to clean out sludge and deposits

That first oil analysis did not have 875 miles on it. No clue how many miles were on that oil. Odometer was at 875 miles.

True mileage. Never rebuilt. It was my grandfathers. It sat A LOT. It sat for about 20 years before I got it.

1300 miles on the bike. 300 miles on the oil. Oil was very dark. Liqui Moly 4T 20w50 with Lucas ZDDP additive. Engine had some sludge in it, frequent oil changes for cleaning.

Oil additive to clean out sludge and deposits

Despite the oil filter looking like that, Blackstone report looks pretty good. That Lucas oil ZDDP additive really has some Zinc and Phosphorus in it thats for sure. It also raised the TBN. Should I continue to use it?

Extending life of gasoline by storing under argon

Snowbaum’s articles are very informative but a LOT to read. I was actually trying to buy an ‘78 R100s. That’s the one that will likely need it then.

Extending life of gasoline by storing under argon

I already have a cheap inert gas available. Argon from my welder.

Extending life of gasoline by storing under argon

Yes, I got the idea from Snowbaum. The motorcycle has very very low miles on it. I hear from some they experienced issues early on and others with none at all. Figured if it's not hurting anything, better safe than sorry.

Extending life of gasoline by storing under argon

I was going to mix a few ounces of 100LL with every gallon of 93 octane from my local gas station. It should be enough to protect the valve seats but not enough to cause any fouling.

Extending life of gasoline by storing under argon

They sell ethanol free gas and premix gas in air tight containers.

Extending life of gasoline by storing under argon

Unfortunately they don’t sell 100LL like that.

Extending life of gasoline by storing under argon

Need the lead to protect the valve seats. Lead forms a protective barrier on them.

I believe these containers are airtight.
