Had an 03 forester with 350k on the motor. The frame rusted out, dropped the motor into a different forester and kept going. Ran 0w20 it's entire life from 5 miles new.
Nice drive! Always loved the look of the Gli. Had a Mk7.5 and Mk8 gti along with a 2020 TTs. The Dsg's were my least favorite and definitely never "sporty" enough. The shifter on the Mk7.5 was ok for a 6 speed. Comparing to my 370z nismo and FL5 it's really hard to ever be happy with a shifter...
With that 10 year warranty run whatever the manual says. With that being said more frequent oil changes will be beneficial if you plan on keeping it past the warranty.
