    Two Stroke Oil Question

Should work just fine. Not sure if you have access to Mystik oil but I have found it to be excellent in 2S applications and they usually have a rebate going to make it even cheaper.

    Clogged Eustachian Tube in Ear

I've had blocked eustachian tubes since I was a child. Several doctors have said it was a genetic issue and my son suffered the same early on in his life. He grew out of it, I, unfortunately, did not. I've had probably a dozen+ surgeries on my right ear because of it. First - Get the tubes, get...

Is it time for laptop makers to be more repair/upgrade friendly?

It used to be big business updating old machines. Processors, video cards, memory, hard drives, etc. Problem is, you sill have an old machine. If you're reinstalling the OS, you're probably seeing a performance improvement simply from the lack of other programs loading. Once you load up...

What is your opinion of OLD OIL?

Assuming the oil analysis results are in line with what you would expect for said vehicle/motor and oil, it would appear at face value that the oil did it's job, regardless of age. Thus, proving the oil was "still good".

    New Furnace question.

Running a 2-stage American Standard for almost 20 years now. Change the filter twice a year and nary a hiccup. Been -10* all week and no issues.

Wind turbines shut down when needed most..

I remember a pretty good winter storm knocking out the power in Chicagoland for a week about 20 years ago. Definitely wasn't the wind turbines. Can’t even count the number of brownouts in Cali due to the heat that happen almost yearly. Don’t fool yourself that this is solely a green power issue...

    Crockpots

We have an old one like yours and it never let us down. My wife, who can’t resist new things, bought a Ninja this last fall. It has a nice feature where you set the heat level and time and when finished, switches over to a warming setting that seems to work well.

Laser printer, good ones still exist

You're not lying when you say HP printers are a scam. More problems with their inkjets than I care to mention. Had a Lexmark for awhile that I got for like $30 on a closeout and used that for close to 20 years before it wouldn't pickup paper anymore. Running an Epson inkjet now. Not the best...

We have an old Pampered Chef cutter that just doesn't want to stop. We've used it on everything.

    Apple Watch

The techy people I know, love them. The not so techy people I know, seem to do just fine without them. Really depends on what your need is. If you’re tethered to your work via email and txt, they can be a helpful tool. I’ve been in the tech biz for 25+ years and have no desire to wear one. My...

Welp my truck just "dropped" a lifter

And somehow he keeps digging the hole he’s trying to talk himself out of. He must like the taste of crow.

Welp my truck just "dropped" a lifter

I honestly don’t remember. I know it drank a lot of oil, more than was deemed acceptable, and they did the “shield/deflector” (hopefully that’s technical enough for the terminology police) and a bottom end.
