All,
Hoping to get some help. Went to leave my son's Lacrosse game and the CEL light came on. Got home and ran Torque. PCM is showing a P2097 code being stored.

I was able to find a complete transmission flush kit for $265 that included a pan/filter, new fill plug, and 6 liters/quarts of ZF LifeGuard 6 fluid. My transmission should be good as new once I get everything swapped.

I do have the 6HP26 transmission. It uses the ZF Lifeguard 6 fluid and the factory fill.

Great information everyone. Well I ended up going with the same Mobil 1 0w40 since I came across it for $4.99 a quart. I couldn't pass that up. So not only did a I get a great price on Mobil 1 I also ended up with a LL-01 approved oil again.

The only history I have with Redline D4 and ZFs is the one in my 325Ci, which loves it. 42k miles since I first switched (and replaced again recently) and the thing shifts...

I am sure some of you have seen my Redline oil question in the general engine oil forum. I wanted to create a new thread to find out if any BMW owners are running Redline D4 ATF fluid in their ZF 6-speed AT. I am approaching 80k on my 2006 BMW 325i and am looking at getting all drivetrain fluids...
I should add that the other issue that brought be to consider redline is the lifter tick that the N52 engine is known for. For those that do not know about this it is basically caused from not enough oil getting to the lifters to keep them quiet. I was thinking a slightly thicker oil might allow...

How much burn off are we talking about and what is your current mileage? These engines are known for consuming some oil, and this consumption can start...

I am currently running Mobil 1 in my 2006 BMW 325i and am looking at going with a different oil this time. Has anyone here ran Redline 5w30 in their bimmer? Does anyone have thoughts on running Redline in my BMW?
