Recommended time based oil change on BMW N52?

Believe you me, I would love to move out of the metro area! Unfortunately, for various reasons, that's not an option right now. We're currently in Douglas County, which, as a whole, I like Douglas County, I just wish they would do away with emissions testing like all the rural counties. In about...

Recommended oil change interval for rarely driven Honda S2000?

I figured I would reach out to get a more informed opinion regarding oil change intervals on my 2008 Honda S2000. The car is garage kept here in Colorado and typically only driven on nice days, or date nights with the wife, with the occasional canyon carving excursion sprinkled in here or there...

Recommended time based oil change on BMW N52?

Thank you! Unfortunately, we live in an emissions controlled area, so catless headers are a no-go (going through the hassle of swapping them back and forth every 1-2 years doesn't sound terribly appealing). I've considered a set of aftermarket catted headers, but with our state (Colorado)...

Recommended time based oil change on BMW N52?

I’m essentially in the Denver metro area (Parker). BMW doesn’t really have a set interval if I’m not mistaken- I believe the computer just keeps a tally based on usage; but with the car sitting so much, I’m not sure I trust the computer’s calculations.

Recommended time based oil change on BMW N52?

Thanks brother! Ditto- solid 328 build! Yeah, I was planning on using the free Bimmer software to flash the DME when I install the 3SIM. It’s just been sitting in the garage for a while now- I plan on ordering new DISA valves before I put it in. Since we’re at the same elevation, I’m curious...

Recommended time based oil change on BMW N52?

When I first bought the 128i, I intended to build it to run NASA TT5. I’ve been tracking and autocrossing cars for years, and have a decent amount of experience at all of the bigger tracks here in CO- HPR, PPIR, PMP and La Junta Raceway. It was in rough shape when I bought it- took me a while to...

Recommended time based oil change on BMW N52?

When I last poured 5w-40 into it, I was considering some track use. I’ve since changed my mind (it’s very good as a street car), but I figured our elevation (5000+ ft elevation results in higher oil temps) combined with the occasional spirited canyon run justified the higher viscosity.

Recommended time based oil change on BMW N52?

Hello, I’m currently seeking recommendations on either time or mileage based oil change intervals on my BMW 128i (N52). I have multiple cars and as a result, it sits most of the time. On average I likely drive it about 3000 miles a year and I’m currently running Castrol Edge Euro 5w-40. The car...

Oil temps when tracking my 2015 Subaru WRX?

Thanks for the general feedback guys! So the general consensus is: -Leave it alone -250 F is not terribly high for a track session. -190 F is not too low for normal driving either. -Make sure to use a high quality oil and it should be alright. Got it!

Oil temps when tracking my 2015 Subaru WRX?

Collectively, the wife and I have now owned 3 WRX's (2004-mine, 2013-hers & 2015-mine) and an STI (2006-mine). The new WRX has an entirely different engine (FA20DIT vs EJ25) and transmission (6MT vs older 5MT in WRX's) than the older WRX's. It's now direct injection, has a twin-scroll bottom...

Oil temps when tracking my 2015 Subaru WRX?

Hello! Long time lurker, first time poster! I have a 2015 Subaru WRX and was planning on attending a few HPDE track days with it. Right now I'm considering picking up an aftermarket air-to-liquid oil cooler for the car and wanted to get a few opinions from the collective minds here on BITOG...
