I am not even sure that the white filters are made in Canada. I just think they are different. As far as the radio and TV think goes, it is so the American culture will not take us over--as if it has not already. The problem is, most of the American shows are so much better than the Canadian...

It has always been my understanding that the "white" AC Delco filters that you buy in Canada are not the same as the "blue" ones from the US. They are manufactured by some one different and are not as good. I do not think you can buy the "blue" ones in Canada. Roger

Great info--thanks. I am compairing 5W/30 non synthtic high milage oil for winter use . It looks like valvoline gives the best cold start except for the -43 for the Quaker State. I find this hard to believe--typo perhaps? Thanks again. Roger

PS are you sure the bad rod is painted black or has it just been over heated from the high heat caused by the spun bearing. Roger

On most con-rods they grind off a small amount of metal from the flat ends that go to-gether where the bolts go. This makes the hole smaller and then they bore the big end to the orginal size. Hope this helps. Roger

Thanks for all your help. I am going to use ESSO XD-3 0W40 and go for aprox. 10,000 km. oil changes--that is if I can get him to bring it over for his free oil change--the price of being both a father and an oil nut!
