Trying to narrow down brake pad selection, but getting mixed signals.

After many years driving higher performance cars on both the road and track have settled in with a couple of options. For regular road use if happy and you are familiar/content with performance replace with manufacturer original. Don't stray; you know what you have. Not the most cost...

    Is CarFax/AutoCheck worth a hoot?

Interesting. Didn't realize you could do that. Nice feature! Of course, assumes an honest and competent owner.

    Is CarFax/AutoCheck worth a hoot?

If you change your own oil/filter Carfax will NOT record it. Report may look like oil/filter has never been changed. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Are you also cursed with the same problem with every car you own?

Current /previous owner of a host of German vehicles...Mercs. BMW. VW & Porsche. Sooner or later the vibration gremlins hit. Usually culprit is the tires and Michigan pothole roads. Tires still have wear but core or other issues result in varying degrees of vibration. Hard to id which tire...

Gloves for Working in 240v Electrical Panel... Safely

Don't risk it without tuning off the main breaker. No need to be working "live". Then use protection as discussed in addition. A full jolt can kill you!

Buy a meal at a fast food pay for tap water

One of my criteria for a "good" restaurant is that they serve and maintain a free cold glass of water. No pressure to spend on overpriced drinks. Never regarded McDonalds as a "good" restaurant. Maybe an average fast-food restaurant, depending on the specific location.

    29 year old washer died

Ordered a new washer from Lowes after existing second Whirlpool failed again for the third time. Have replaced door lock and circuit board on previous repairs. Was a nice unit, washed well but after 8 years not putting any more money into it. Expectation is for 10 plus years so will see how...

    Who makes a good TV?

Been with a Vizio for many years. A bit above base level but remained reliable although remote is a bit clunky. Very affordable for the budget/value conscious.

Everything is potentially fake / counterfeit these days

Less regrets when it's something non-critical, but when talking auto and other parts that compromise safety/reliability seems there should be consequences for the seller. I am moving to more dealership purchases for this reason, recognizing they are typically significantly more costly. Have...

Home insurance rate changes since 2021.

Just renewed mine. % shown in the table looks close but a little conservative here in MI.

    Mexican cars

Daughter lives in France outside Paris in the country and purchased a similar Duster last year. Great economy vehicle, good value. Basic engineering so easier to fix but does have an ECM. Small engine has enough power to get around, including on motorways while not being thirsty. So many...

    Cable TV and Costs?

I like to record stuff for later viewing at my convenience, like the F1 GP Series. Have only found Direct TV, Comcast and WOW with this capability. All pricey but provide a variety of packages at different prices. Depending on needs a ton of choices, but few allow recording like the old days...
