I’m going to be doing 10,000 miles until my extended warranty is out then go with the 15,000 Amsoil says the filter is rated for. I didn’t know when I bought that warranty that I’m required to do maintenance at a minimum of the factory interval or this would’ve be a 10,000 mile run as well.
My usage is almost exclusively highway so the engine is almost always on. If I get tangled in traffic then it’s easy to have an individual trip over 60% EV.
Vehicle had 80,032 miles on it at the time of the oil change. 10% EV usage over the life of this oil change, averaging 100 miles a day almost pure highway. Looks good to me; starting to thicken, I imagine I could easily do the 15,000 miles that Amsoil rates their smaller oil filters for. I'm...
Yes, all of the oil is API licensed. I view it as recycling, it's for sure much more environmentally friendly than pouring brand new perfectly good oil that can't be sold in a used oil container.
The used oil test was just to be sure the engine isn't having a problem. I switched from a K&N Cold...
When I first got the car in October it was going through oil like crazy. Like a quart every 2 weeks with less than 200 miles. It was the pcv valve, a new Motorcraft pcv valve completely stopped all the oil consumption. The cheap house brand pcv valve was worse than the old Motorcraft one. Now I...
This is oil from my bucket. The car has 191k miles on it, the engine has maybe 85k ish. It's a used engine the previous owner installed after overheating the original.
I just posed a, "virgin," sample of this oil as well. Granted the oil properties of the bucket (I have two now) is ever...
This is oil from my bucket. I sell auto parts; when a leaking container of oil comes in, instead of putting it in the used oil tank I started taking it.
Well a lot of the guys I work with think I'm insane. I maintain that any API certified oil has to be miscible, it would be chaos if engine oil...
The Pro-Tec Master Pack of filters that I bought from O'Reilly had every single filter individually wrapped, I looked closely at the threads during my last oil change after reading a bit here. Everything looked perfect. For the cheapest filter(s) I could find, can't complain for my purposes.
Because you are connecting the batteries in parallel. If you were to connect the batteries in series you would be doubling the voltage and causing all sorts of problems unless you specifically have a 24v system.
That bucket contains motor oil that leaks at work. Instead of tossing it in the recycled oil container, I take it. Consider it recycling. All the oil in the picture was purchased on clearance for $4.77 per 5qt and $0.97 a qt (The Mobil 1 was given to me). I have a Ford 4.6 2v and I live in a hot...
