    Some current Oil Change Prices

Kauffmann Tire here in Atlanta (advertised as "Cheap and Fast Oil Change Services"): Valvoline Premium Conventional: $39 Valvoline MaxLife Synthetic Blend: $59 Valvoline Full Synthetic Oil: $69 The only difference in their costs between the 3 is the price of the oil. At Wal-Mart, the price...

    Valvoline Next Gen

I have NexGen 5w30 in my Altima right now and it runs beautifully: nice and quiet. I paid $5 for a 5.1-quart bottle maybe a year and a half ago. I bought every bottle my local O'Reilly had. Yes... I bought them both!

    Late 90's-early 2000's Nissan products.

I'm still driving my 2000 Altima GLE that I bought new. Admittedly I'm a low mileage driver (currently at about 150k), but with a long-term view on it, little has gone wrong. In the past 15 years, the major work on it has been a new alternator, new radiator, and most recently the intake manifold...

    the worst oil change?

One of his other videos (also coming back at 'cha with the 2016 Toyota Corolla S Special Edition) says if you use gas with ethanol in it the serpentine belt will fling "black stuff" on the underside of the hood. And then if you switch to 100% gasoline, it will disappear.

"Tainting" new oil by just Drain & Fill ??

This is exactly why my oil change process is as follows: Drain old oil, replace filter, and refill with new oil. Run engine for 5 minutes. Repeat 4 times. That way I KNOW all the old oil is gone, and I only use 14 quarts of oil and 4 filters per oil change.

    OCI Recommendations

Thanks, everyone, for chiming in. To address some of the questions: My morning commute is usually about 15-20 minutes, evening commute is 20-25. I'm in Atlanta, so "winter" isn't very cold. When the weather turns icy, I work from home and don't drive at all. The car is sometimes driven...

    OCI Recommendations

What kind of OCI would you guys use for the following: 2000 Nissan Altima 150,000 miles I drive fewer than 6,000 miles per year, mostly less than 5 miles per trip (commute about 3 miles each way to work entirely within the Atlanta city limits). I used to have my mechanic change the oil, and he...
