    Current Xw20's

With so many synthetic oils available for less than $25 a jug I'm surprised anyone would use conventional oil anymore. You really don't save that much at all.

First time seeing these at my local Walmart. Hope they keep em stocked!

That's the one great thing about Canadian Tire up here, we've always had a good supply of both Ultra Platinum and M1 ESP in the 5qt jugs, and they go on sale quite often too (you'd have to be crazy to buy oil there at full price!) It's just too bad they don't sell Quaker State Ultimate...

    Paint protection. It’s all futile.

One of the reasons why I love Meguiar's Ultimate Fast Finish is because it's the most hydrophobic product I've ever used. I've never had a ceramic coating but this stuff seems to be almost as close as you can get in a regular sealant. Unfortunately they discontinued this product a few years ago...

How often do you wash your car in an automatic car wash?

I never take my Corvette through an automatic wash, I just use those do it yourself coin washes. I don't often drive it in the rain, so I'm mainly just spraying it down once a month to get rid of the dust and then I immediately drive it on the highway to blow most of the water off and then I'll...

    The problems with GDI

One of the reasons why I think my Corvette is going to last a long time is because I never just take it out for short drives. When I start it up, it usually gets driven for a good hour minimum, often times I'll take it out for a few hundred miles.

    The problems with GDI

In talking with the owner's son he told me his dad just used whatever 5w30 synthetic was available at the fast lube places, and that he followed the oil life monitor for the changes

    The problems with GDI

I'm with you on this one, a lot of the C7 Corvette guys swear by catch cans but I'm of the belief that they really aren't necessary. I keep coming back to this 2014 Corvette that I know of with 428,000 miles on it (as of early 2020 that is) and I was talking to the guy's son and that car was...

Amsoil 5-30W Signature Series Vs Mobil 1 0-30W AFE

You can believe what you want but 3k oil changes definitely won't double your engine life compared to 6k oil changes on pretty much any engine built in modern times.

And smelled like gummy bears too! :ROFLMAO:

    M1 0w-20 EP or a better value 0w-20?

If you're looking for a more cost effective 0w20 it's hard to beat Kirkland/Supertech for around $19-20 a jug, or for a few bucks more, Quaker State Ultimate Protection at just under $24. At the end of the day though, if you suspect fuel dilution to be an issue, you should be getting an oil...

I sure do miss cheap oil.

That's how I feel about Supertech/Kirkland oil, it is better than some of the more expensive name brand oils (namely it's better than some of the more basic entry level synthetics from Mobil, Pennzoil, Castrol, etc.)

    Catalytic Converter Safe Oil?

Nonsense. Neither of my cars burn any significant amount of oil between changes, less than half a quart each and I go about 7k in the Corvette and 10k in the Civic for my OCIs. I bet if you took a survey on BITOG of oil consumption on 2010 or newer vehicles owned by people here you'd find very...

    The problems with GDI

It did work fine, however direct injection offers more power, better fuel economy and lower emissions, so those are pretty big things in it's favor for a manufacturer. The big negative is when it's prone to carbon buildup, but as it pertains to my car, from what I am gathering so far direct...

    Catalytic Converter Safe Oil?

I'm a lucky one that has a Chevy and a Honda that both have cost me ZERO in repairs. I bought the Corvette new and the Honda I bought used 3 years ago. Before that I had a 2005 Corvette and 2006 Civic and the combined repair bill of both cars was less than $3000 and I had that Corvette 4 1/2...

I sure do miss cheap oil.

M1 used to be sold in 5L jugs but a few years ago they switched it to 5 qts instead. Pennzoil and Castrol still sell it in 5L jugs here though.
