Thanks wemay…. I forgot about that one.
I know we're comparing 2 different cars/drivers but based on both of these UOA's, I think the Castrol held its own vs. the premium priced LM TopTech. Just thinking (typing) out loud here... both fine oils in this application.
Thanks again, CapriRacer.
Just to close the loop: we did go with the H-rated Continental CrossContact LX25's and they are outstanding in all regards, especially impact harshness. Problem solved for me!
Just changed oil myself for the first time on this car with Castrol LL 508.00 approved 0W-20.
This UOA was from the 2nd dealer change (included with purchase price of car). It's better than I thought it would be!
I like the tirerack professional reviews because they are comparing same size tires on the same car.
For the consumer sectiin of tire rack, i look for reviewers with the same car as i will be outfitting.
I have had good luck with a particular tire on one car and then not cared for it on...
Thanks for both posts, men.
I guess I just don't want to buy a "lesser" tire that somehow might be more prone to more failures than the H-rated, A temp version.
Typical road trip = 6 hours @ 75-80 mph.
Hi All,
Time for new tires on wife's 2016 Honda Pilot EXL - AWD. Size is 245-60/18.
Current worn tires are Michelin Defender LTX, which we love in all regards except for impact harshness; gonna fix that now.
Looking to buy Continental CrossContact LX25's but can't decide between H or T rating...
Critc's usually spot on but just in case its not the EPB, make sure she isnt keeping the fob in the car overnight.
That keeps certain things awake and can drain the battery.

No worries, mate... all in good fun!
I can tell you that i have put premium in my Tiguan a few times due to these low gas prices latley. No difference in fuel mileage or hp improvement on my arse dyno that i can...
The low vs high octane hp would be valid if APR would have done same car/engine on their dyno wiht both fuels under similar atmospheric conditions ... otherwise too many variables. Interesting though, thanks for posting.
I have this engine in my 19 Tiguan. Came this close to buying the passat!
My heart goes out to the workers who want/need to work during tbe strike.
Can't cross the picket line for obvious reasons but how do they deal with the financial aftermath?
My 2013 Accords filter looks like that everytime i change it, which is about every 30,000 miles (I obey the maint. Minder).
My motor with 237,000 miles on it uses about 1 quart every 12,000 miles.
I'd rather have the oily film there than on the intake valves
Would you be willing to share likes and dislikes after owning it for a month with some cold and snowy WI weather?
I rented a Legacy Limited in Portland last year and loved it so much, its on my short list later this year. Best seats ever and perfect suspension tuning were what really won me...
