UOA doesn't show deposits either. What will it accomplish? Longer runs with an oil that actually wont break down, can handle heat without evaporating off and gunking up the emissions system. Lower friction, less wear, better protection, less deposits, better mpg, cooloer running, longer engine life.

Why not just use Amsoil to be sure its a real group 4/5 synthetic?

Aluminum and iron wear metals are high for Honda, especially with such a short interval. Thats because its a group 3 oil wearing your engine out faster than a group 4/5 would. Switch to Amsoil or Redline and see your wear drop. That 0/40 has to have a ridiculous high volatility leaving deposits...

OP-Im a owner of several Hondas/Acuras heres the deal. You can use the NEW fuel efficient (lighter) oil in older transmissions. You CANNOT use the heavier atf in the new ones that require lighter fluid. Amsoil goies the safe route recently by recommending the heavier atf for z1 oem equipped...

I also have a 08 tl. 16,000 miles man...you have some guts! Thats a long time. I just did the 105k service (albeit at 125k). Took me 13 hours doing it by myself for the first time. I think next time I could easily cut it in half. If youre interested you can get kits on rockauto with oem parts...

Wow, those wear metals are ridiculous for a Honda. Why don't you use some true synthetic instead of base 3 pretend synthetic? Like..amsoil sso, redline, pennsoil ultra? I ran 10,500 miles on redline with 1 ppm aluminum in a j32. If it cost less than $9 a qt its probably not true synthetic.
