You forgot to mention what tires were installed.

I’ve always done yearly or 100 hours on an oil changes. I hope that my Kohler ZT740 will last that long. It’s a good running engine. The mower was delivered running at 3,300 RPMs. I turned it up to 3,600 at no load. The low speed idle was also set too low. I fixed that too.

A little advice about this engine. Use only FRAM 4967 series or STP S4967. WIX/NAPA Gold will leak. The baseplate bottoms out on the filter mounting flange before the gasket can completely seal.

I owned two Toro ZTs with that engine. It’s a Loncin. They never gave me any trouble.

Fine! Do as you like. I’m on my fourth zero turn. I’ve had a machine with the EZT. I’ve had a machine with the HG-3100 I’ve had a machine with the HG-3400 I currently have a machine with the HG-5400 I won’t run that garbage brand on mine.

I have no idea who made it. The Hydro-Gear filter and the direct aftermarket replacements are hydraulic filters and not automotive engine oil filters. There is no need for an ADBV.

Hydro-Gear doesn’t specify an ADBV for their filters. Therefore, reputable aftermarket suppliers do not have them in their direct replacement filters. I would not use those Laser filters. I would use Hydro-Gear, WIX/NAPA, Rotary, or Stens.

Having an ADBV could cause a problem. Every aftermarket replacement and the Hydo-Gear do not have an ADBV.

If it has a gas pedal starter switch, that could be the problem.

3247 hours? Is that the original engine? If so, that’s impressive.

What engine? If it’s a single cylinder Kawasaki, those things foul plugs pretty quickly. My Kawasaki Mule is bad on plugs. I went to a higher heat range plug and that helped. Verify that you have spark. Verify compression. Verify fuel delivery. Bypass micro-switch, if it has one and see if it...
