CVT fluid change and mixing oils oem vs other brands question?

Wondering what GOG fee is. Interesting, that the dealer is replacing plugs on the transmission and front diff but not on the rear diff. Does anybody know why?

CVT fluid change and mixing oils oem vs other brands question?

Finally got a hold of the original dealer and they are not matching the price so I made an appointment with the dealer with the $226 price. Interesting, they only quote me 4 qt of ATF fluid.

CVT fluid change and mixing oils oem vs other brands question?

The dealer has a full flush service. I don't know what it entails but they do it. It was not recommended by the subaru service adviser on my mileage, but he said it would be advisable at over 100K miles.

It is known that Idemitsu is the manufacturer of Subaru-branded oils.

CVT fluid change and mixing oils oem vs other brands question?

Oh, I'm. I also got a quote for front and rear diffs. $130 and $89. Pretty much the same price as the shop. Actually, the shop is about $15 more if I would include shop supplies. I'm surprised. The dealer is a little bit out of my way so I'm still trying to get to this dealer. Like I said, the...

CVT fluid change and mixing oils oem vs other brands question?

Called another dealer and drain and refill is only $226 but if I had a turbo then it would be $300+. The appointment lady had no idea what she was talking about. She did not even ask for my car-specific model and engine. I'm trying to get a service adviser to talk to. That other dealer does full...

I was and this Valvoline fluid is certified for subaru. It is clearly stated on the label.

CVT fluid change and mixing oils oem vs other brands question?

I called SOA and they repeated it multiple times. I was supposed to get a call from a manager to confirm but haven't gotten it. In my manual, it states only to inspect the fluid, never replace it.

CVT fluid change and mixing oils oem vs other brands question?

It would be really hard to prove, but in my case, I have an extended warranty because of the all issues they had and SOA can play the game of "not done at an authorized shop".

CVT fluid change and mixing oils oem vs other brands question?

Can I ask if you would do the same for front and rear diffs? I feel like it is easier than CVT. I know that the shop told me that the reason they quoted me 10qt as they would be doing it twice. They were upfront with it.

CVT fluid change and mixing oils oem vs other brands question?

This shop quotes me $245. One dealer, closer to me, was $389. I may call another dealer and see if price is different.

CVT fluid change and mixing oils oem vs other brands question?

I did not know where I would get the answer faster. My apologies. I'm going to ask the shop to see if they would get a Subaru Fluid. It is interesting that they quoted me 10qt and said that they would do it 2 times. I see others like you reporting that it only needs 6qt. If the shop would allow...

    Subaru cvt fluid change

I have 2018 Subaru Forester with tr580 tranny I'm planning to do fluid change on this. The shop I use is using 881056 valvoline cvt transmission fluid, not the OEM subaru one. Is it ok to mix? I know drain and flush will not get all the fluid out. Some people on forums claiming I should do it at...
