    hotshot fr3 oil additive?

Saw this on the shelf at the local O'Reily's, the viscosity did seem quite thick, almost like a 40 grade oil and the color was pretty much clear. It does have good reviews on Amazon with people reporting smoother running engines but i think that could also just be a side effect of the viscosity...

SEAFOAM TRANS TUNE just added to Fragile Honda 5-speed Automatic Transmission

Just my two cents, but i am a believer that Honda Auto transmissions specifically like Honda fluid. I dont know what it is but ive owned countless Honda's and have experimented with everything but always go back to the OEM Fluids for my Honda Auto's. Now for Honda Manuals, they arent as picky...

Any MTF that Improves Notchy Shifting?

You mentioned the car has 30k miles which is usually when manufacturers recommend changing the mtf anyway. I recently did a change on my Civic si at 60k after having the same notchy issue. Figured id start with the OEM fluid and shifting quality has improved 100% as well as on/off throttle...

    Honda CBR600F PC41 Motul 7100 10w30 6300km 26 months

I'm off the opinion you can run just about any motorcycle specific oil in these CBR600F engines. People regularly get over 100,000 miles from these engines. There's some video I saw on YouTube where a guy hit 300,000 miles on an CBR600F4i. I've got a CBR600RR, and although a completely...

    Alternative oil filters

That CALSCI link is a great resource for alternative motorcycle filters. I've ran all kinds of filters over the years, TBH right now im kind of hooked on Wal Marts Supertech filters, Can't beat two dollars and some change for an oil filter but they're advertised as 5k mile filters so for...

    Kreen and check engine light.

Same thing happened to me, but i used Seafoam instead of Kreen on an 00 Civic EX. Started the car up after adding it to oil and gas, and also sucked some into the intake through the brake booster hose. Car started fine, started smoking from exhaust immediately, right as i went to give it some...

Why manufacturer would only recommends Semi Synthetic

What specific bike and year? More than likely, you'll have no issue running a full synth oil. My bike originally recommended Honda GN4 conventional oil, but ever since I've owned it, I've just ran synthetic (usually Rotella T6) and never experience any negative issues. And I've put 38k miles on...

Why does shift feel deteriorate on shared sump/trans engines

I do typically use Rotella T6 10w40 since i can get it dirt cheap at Wal Mart and since i do ride in the winter (which can get into the teens) i don't like going thicker than a 10w40 but of course trying 15w40 this time of year wouldnt do any harm, is that weight wet clutch compatible as well...

Why does shift feel deteriorate on shared sump/trans engines

My question is, why does shift feel deteriorate so soon on a shared sump motorcycle where the engine and transmission share the same oil? Ill get a little specific with my example. I've got a Honda 2007 CBR600RR, and ive just passed 48,000 miles on this motorcycle, runs great, no consumption...

    ZRX1200 Mobil 1 V-Twin 20w50, 5065 miles

I think the 20w50 is spec'd for that bike but from my experience a modern 10w40 will hold up just fine in a liquid cooled engine and i dont know if it's just in my head but the bike seems a little more rev happy with the 10w40.

    2012 Honda CBR - Rotella T6 5w-40

I need to get around to doing a UOA on my 07 CBR600RR. Bike has lived most of its life on amsoil metric motorcycle 10w40. Year round commuter to work, unless it's pouring rain. Just passed 40,800 miles in the clock. Oil changed around every 3k miles with usually a cheap purolator filter. To my...

Terrible luck with motorcycle chain longevity.

I put a D.I.D. X-Ring chain on my bike exactly a year ago. And right at 15k miles now, links are starting to kink up and the o-Ring's are coming apart. I ride daily year round unless it's pouring rain and lube my chain religiously and am really surprised it didn't last longer. I'll also add...
