    Windows 10 Upgrade Guide

+1. With all the stuff going on at MS now I really believe there will be a lot more people switching to some version of Linux within the next year. Linux is already over 4% market share as it is. Linux market share is maybe 2% or 3% higher if you factor in the Chromebook/Chrome OS, which runs on...

How thirsty MSFT is for my documents

This +1. I personally don't think it's good at all to use the cloud. I really don't even know what or where the cloud even is. I don't need MS or Google to store my documents, pictures, etc. I keep all of that on flash drives and don't store anything on my laptop except for mp3 music files...

Which band is your favorite for their lyrics?

Rush, without a doubt had the best lyrics. No band has ever affected me the way Rush did. I still listen to Rush every day. YYNOT has some really inspired lyrics too, but the band is very heavily influenced by Rush, both in lyrics and music. Two bands, both from Poland, Riverside and Moonrise...

    Post your latest oil change

I may do that once the warranty expires. I might even go to 5w30 conventional just based on how little I drive now.

    Post your latest oil change

My 2018 Nissan Rogue, 61,021 miles on the car, maybe 3,300 miles on the oil. The car is still covered under the Nissan CPO extended warranty so I still have to follow their 6 month/5,000 mile oci. That will finally end in July 2025. Out: O'Reilly Syntec 0W20 and Microgard MSL51358 In: Kirkland...

    File Your Taxes For Free

Another vote for Free Tax USA. Mrs. Jimmy and I did ours today with Free Tax USA and it worked great, Federal filing really is free unless you want to buy one of the extra services near the end of filing. Maybe an hour after we filed I got an email and a text saying our return was accepted at...

    New tool thread

I bought them as a complete set back in 2005. They have held up pretty well.

    Coast bar soap

We are in central Florida about 20 miles west of Orlando. I don't remember seeing peppermint soap at Costco here but I think they did have the Irish Spring. It will be a while before I need it anyway. My wife has her own bathroom and she uses some kind of girly soap in her shower.

    Coast bar soap

This thread sure has been interesting. We can't use Dial or any other antibacterial soap here, it's not good for the septic tank. We have a brand new Costco in our town now, my wife and I have renewed our membership now that we don't have to drive all the way in to Orlando to go to Costco. When...

    Coast bar soap

Ivory bar soap on a washcloth works fine. The local grocery store here sells multi-packs of the larger bar size for a good price. Ivory works best with the hard water in my town. Sometimes I use the Ivory body wash and a scrubber but I prefer the bar soap. No problems with either one leaving my...

    New tool thread

A long time ago I bought a set of mini screwdrivers from Snap-On, 2 phillips and 2 flat heads, each one is about 5 inches long. They sure came in handy back when I was in the car audio business. Now both flat heads are chipped and the #0 phillips tip is worn down pretty bad, so I got this set at...

    10-Qt Kirkland Signature Full Synthetic Motor Oil 0W-20, 5W-20, 5W-30 $31.99 Delivered

Thanks OP for posting this. They built a new Costco here in my town so my wife renewed our membership. We bought one box of the 0W20 yesterday. Both of our cars are due for oil change now so this is a good deal. I like how it says right on the bottle the oil is made by Warren. No more guessing...

    Android Cell Phone AntiVirus

Samsung Internet with the Ad Block Plus for Samsung Internet app, both from the Google Store. I have a Pixel phone but don't really like Chrome very much.

    Android Cell Phone AntiVirus

For me, Avast One has kept me off bad sites from a Google search several times in the last year or so that I have been using it. I have no documentation or screen shots but I do remember Avast warning me the site I had clicked on was dangerous and that I should go back to safety. I do a lot of...

    Android Cell Phone AntiVirus

Avast One works very well. Runs in real time and also scans apps you already have plus any apps you want to download. It is the only Android AV I have seen that is free to use and has real time protection. The other free cell phone AV's mostly are just scanners that don't work in real time, they...
