I dont plan to use 5w-20 because Im in Florida so I can use a thicker oil to combat the extreme heat. But I am going to use 1 qt per change of the 20w until its all gone.
I highly doubt the PP 5w-30 will shear like the toyota conventional so Im going to go til at least 7,500 and then change and...
Im wondering if this was actually a 5w-20 to begin with and the toyota dealer just told me it was 5w-30.
I highly doubt this 30 weight oil would shear to a 16 weight in only 4,500 miles. If and I say IF it did shear from 30 to 16 that fast then I would say the conventional toyota brand oil is...
I have seen multiple links to a chart from Toyota stating my avalon is now specd for 5w-20. That is why I figured mixing 20 and 30 would be no big deal. Plus I got the 5w-20 PP at oriellys for $2.37/qt so I want to use it!
Is PP known to shear any faster than any other particular synthetic...

Media looks different to me in the photos. Purolator doesn't make TRD filters for Toyota.
In person it...
Heres the TRD filter compared to the Purolator Synthetic, obviously the same filter manufacturer. Same media, same mesh backing. For $3.73 on amazon I'll use it but overall not worth the $13 retail price tag. The Fram Ultra for $10.50 at WalMart is the best buy
2005 is a PD motor. You need to be more concerned you use the proper oil to eliminate cam wear rather than worry about fuel additives. Other than that they are an awesome car, I wish I still had mine.
I had a 2011 Hyundai Sonata that called for Hyundai SPH-IV atf ONLY. Some say anything else will cause failure of the trans. I dont believe that so I did a little research and found that the Kia type-4 fluid is $9/qt and hyundai spy-iv is $19/qt. Obviously some dealers charge a little more and...
