Non inverter generators for home use.

If it is a Honda manufactured generator I would not be concerned. I just used my Mitsubishi generator to run my Samsung fridge after Hurricane Sally with no problems. Some of the electricians on this board could probably tell you how to test the output on the generator and what to look for but...

Chinese digital calipers and battery life

The caliper has a constant drain on the battery. The only solution is to take the battery out when not in use. I use scotch tape to tape it to the outside of the plastic battery compartment.

Oil recommendation for brush mower with Kawasaki 17 HP FH500V 4 stroke twin

My Kawasaki V Twin zero turn mower uses less oil when I use a straight weight, just as the manual says. I'm in Florida cutting grass in the heat so I use a straight 40 weight.

Doug DeMuro - Quirks & Features

Well, I am the opposite of you, OP. I often skip past the quirks and features about how the glove box opens or where the headlight switch is located and go straight to "and now I drive the ............" Most of the cars he reviews are ones I would never buy but I am curious as to how they drive.

How much work is it to teach new shooters?

Also, if teaching a shooter who intends to hunt, stress the importance of being sure you know what you are shooting at and what is downrange from your target. Along with negligent discharges, not following those rules are the cause of most hunting accidents.

How much work is it to teach new shooters?

I was a firearms instructor for a Federal agency and taught at the national Law Enforcement Training Center occasionally. First make sure they understand proper gun safety, and your state's laws on self defense. As far as teaching new shooters, I found that they were usually easier to teach...

Zero turn recommendations for hilly yard

You can get your wife to cut the grass?! Please give me lessons on how to do that! But as to the original question: you can get a Scag Liberty Z for under $5000 with up to a 61" deck, although the large deck might kick the price over $5000. You can get a Kawasaki engine with a Scag also. I...

Replace 7-year old battery in BMW even though there are no problems?

I tried to stretch a 7 year old battery in my 2005 Dodge Magnum. No sign of a weak battery until it wouldn't start one night at 11 PM in a parking lot. Even after I got it jumped started the engine computer did not like the low voltage and the engine barely ran. I had to keep giving it gas at...

    Nothing beats an old V8

Buicks were torque monsters, not as much horsepower as others but for the street torque is king.

Car brand that burned you so bad on reliability you'd never buy again?

As are at least half the cars on the won't buy list. So your point is?

Car brand that burned you so bad on reliability you'd never buy again?

After skimming 12 pages of "cars I would never buy again", these are the cars forum members have sworn to never buy again: any GM, any Ford, any Chrysler/Dodge/FCA/Jeep, (so basically any American made car/truck), VW, Audi, Volvo, Subaru, Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, BMW, Mercedes, MG...
