A little mmo or 2 stoke isn't going to destroy your cats especially at a very light dosage. I prefer to run the tank on regular gas and a splash of tc-w3. No check engine lights for emissions ever have popped up on me doing that. Also I run gumout before every oil change. Full bottle to a full...
Depending on compression readings I'd go with either redline or Valvoline premium blue restore. If compression is low due to sticking rings go with vpbr. If it's okay redline with similar esters would clean up the sludge and varnish. Personally I'd run a conventional oil with rislone for a few...
Always keep a spare quart of oil, old dex/merc, and a gallon of water in the trunk. I've never had to use them and hope I never do. In an emergency situation those three things may very well keep you on the road to get to help.
You can have too much fluid if you just put some in. The usual process to check it is to get on a flat surface and get it up to temp. Then put the car in either park or neutral and it should be in the hash marks. If not top off in cup increments. If it continues to be low you have a leak. Too...
Welcome to the forum! Also we need some more information. Are you preforming a atf change or just topping off? If topping off you have a leak that needs fixed, if changing the fluid I would just shrug it off and drop the plug and change with the Valvoline multi vehicle. There is maxlife and a...
I'm not going to defend my position on being a jets fan this year. It's been very dismal. I will defend my position on lower viscosity index oils shearing less. That Castrol cvt oil is likely using viscosity index improvers to cover for a likely lower quality base oil. The same for many lower...
Redline is the stouter fluid hands down by that comparison. Lower viscosity index means a higher quality base oil. It will shear less over however long interval you choose. If price is no obstacle then clearly go with the redline.
I second the rislone treatment. I've used the regular formula with some success at quieting start ups and cleaning some varnish. It sounds like a common issue that you're gonna have to live with until something actually fails in the future. Stick with consistent ocis and happy motoring.
I use atf+4 in my kia's power steering. As a synthetic fluid I believe it to be an upgrade over the original spec psf3 and it's alternative dexron 2. Similar specs but with superior shear stability and cold flow properties.
The good news it's running fine and back on the road. The bad it's got a different color bumper. AutoZone did not have matching paint, so I just got as close to it as I could. Also the grill doesn't want to go in the new cover and have to find a side marker somewhere as nobody sells it online...
