2019 Honda Pilot temp went cold

99.9% it’s an s-vcm failure, happened to me exactly like that after a 105f day. I replaced with vcm tuner ii and no problems in 3+ years

2019 Ford Flex with Flakes in Drain Pan

Had a very similar situation with my old 5th gen 4runner with the 4.0 v6, mine looked worse actually but ended up being the softer metal drain bolt threads shedding. Take a look for worn out threads on the drain bolt, someone may have cross thread it before, they’re typically much softer metal...

    Question on 04 Taurus Tranny

Supertech mercon v is all you need, officially licensed and inexpensive. When I did a drain and fill in a ‘00 continental with the ax4n I simply pulled ~10qts from up top and replaced it with st fluid, but it only had 45k miles.

Recent gas price increase. On Tuesday it went up 32¢. Has yours

Still near or around $5 for 87 in the seattle area at the big names (chevron, shell, 76)

Highly optimistic Craigslist ad for 2000 Tacoma

You’re definitely not from Seattle That truck would have 203k miles on it and be a 2wd prerunner and the seller would still be asking that much

Honda K24 2.4L / 5 speed AT - known issues / what to look for?

Common issues already covered, but my v6 09 Accord has been the most reliable rig I’ve ever owned, zero issues (just annoyance of the expensive timing belt replacement a couple years ago, but that’s inherent to the v6) Overall great generation of Accord, maybe the best overall for its mix of...

New fan clutch - break in or broken?

For the older diesels (went through the same debacle with my old 95 E300 diesel) I’ve found only the Mercedes dealer-sourced clutches made by Horton work correctly. I tried Sachs, Behr, and even Febi-Bilstein; none worked properly until I paid the piper for the MB/Horton. Some were always...

Brass slivers in oil. 3.0 V6 Accord.

I’d still wager it’s threads from bolt/pan getting in there The j series, especially without vcm, are some of the best engines ever made, I wouldn’t worry myself

Service life of Honda 5AT transmission?

Look up the 3x3 drain and fill, you can throw a couple extra in if you need, but avoid machine flushing Honda. The 3x3 is an official Honda procedure IIRC, dw-1 has worked great for me for 12 years and nearly 200k in the v6 5at Honda Accord, and 3x3 is what I did initially when Honda released...

    Honda VCM Disabling Questions

Vcm tuner II here since 25k miles in my’09, 60k miles now and extremely happy without vcm I had S-vcm previously but it failed after 2yrs during a 115f degree heatwave, others on Accord forums have noted similar issues with the s-vcm, so i moved to vcm tuner and Ben all good since

    2009 Honda Odyssey Extensive Tune-Up (200,000+ Miles)

Interesting thread and curious to see how it goes. My 09 Accord v6 has vcm but it’s been disabled since ~25k miles, currently at 61k. It doesn’t use any oil and runs like a clock, but I suspect it would’ve started using oil around this mileage without the vcm tuner. The J35 is a great engine...

parts sold and fulfilled by amazon

I buy NOTHING from Chinazon anymore, zero Too much fake garbage, end-to-end. The only thing I’ve bought there in the last couple years were, ironically, auto parts….a 25 pack of oil drain washers for my Accord, but that is pretty hard to screw up and was the end of my Chinazon purchasing...
