Suggestions for 2010 Toyt Sienna and 2011 Venza

Greetings, all. Until recently, all of my oil changes were performed at a dealership, with OEM filters. I haved moved to an area where that's no longer convenient. While I'm going to continue with the same oil, the hassle of obtaining Toyota filters doesn't seem justified. While OCIs will stay...

    New to me 'puter.

I just "upgraded" from an old, anemic Gateway netbook to a T410 w/ Nvidia graphics adapter ~ $220 on Ebay with XP installed. First order of business was installing Debian GNU/Linux. I haven't made the switch to SSD, because I need reliability more than speed. Spinning rust is the devil I know.

Can I add another HD as a backup?

My comment made no mention of APC's customer service, which is above reproach, especially if you're an enterprise user. I simply said that you'd get more protection for your money in the "home user" space. You'll spend less for a low-end UPS with AVR from, say, Minuteman than from APC, unless...

    Rush returning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw them here in Atlanta last year for the first show of the Snakes and Arrows tour. Judging by the dates they have publicized so far, Atlanta will be the last date of the tour, as well. Pretty huge for me.

Want to get OBDII-type info from 1991 Toyota

Greetings all, I have a 1991 Toyota Camry, and I'd like to obtain and log data from the engine's sensors. Since I'm pre-OBDII by a few years, I need another way. I have a laptop running DebianLinux that will remain in the vehicle and serve as a digital dashboard and GPS display (from a Magellan...

Can I add another HD as a backup?

Schmoe, Some of us obviously differ as to the "best" setup, but I don't think any of the advice you've gotten is bad. There's just more than one way to solve the problem. I tend to look at things through enterprise "belt and suspenders" glasses, but I have often thought about using USB for a...

    Internet use at work.

I used to work as an IT director for a city government (now in private consulting/managed service practice), so let me offer a somewhat different viewpoint: IT generally doesn't sit there and watch what you're surfing, but every site you visit ends up in the firewall/gateway system logs. While...

    .38 Special Ammo

Thanks for the information re +P in the Model 15. I have avoided it since I didn't want to find out by experimentation and I'm not the original owner of this weapon.

    .38 Special Ammo

I respectfully think that, for home defense purposes, people are over-thinking the ammunition except for the question of over-penentration. The typical scenarios for which I prepare are a burglar who happens to be armed or a known-armed home invader He/she is not after me personally, he's...

    Concealed weapons permit?

Our legislature and governor just strengthened our concealed-carry law by broadening the places one can legally carry (restaurants and other public gatherings that were previously excluded).
