    stick transmissions are faster. autos are heavier. Autos shift to the gear it thinks i want. i can anticipate road conditions an select the gear for the job before i get their with a stick. an auto can only respond after. if autos are so good why are they making select shift autos.

    In my tacoma 2.7 4cyl after going from 5-30 dino to 5-30 i'am seeing a small increase about 2% or 3%.

    Tapping an oil drain plug, for an oil temp sender?

    I've done it worked fine for me. one thing, depends on how hard the drain bolt is. old G.M. are made out really hard steel very hard to drill. toyota are soft very easy to drill. leave a wire connection so you can remove the drain bolt easily.

    Sorry I wasn't clear. the tacome only has 40k miles. I only drive it about 10k miles a year. If the old truck has been able to do 200+ with dino oil and fram filters, why should I run syn in the newer one? Can I do once a year oil changes with mobil 1? Its getting hard to find Havoline straight...

    I have two toyota trucks. I'm the original onwer of both. One is an 84 4x4 22r 5sp reg cab and the other is an 2001 tacoma 2.7l 4cyl 5sp reg cab 4x4. the 84 has 211 thousand miles, 90% with havoline 30W and fram filters. no engine repairs at all. the head has never been off.     where to put oil temp sender

    where is the best place to put an oil temp sender? what if you don't want to drop oil pan? is there enough oil splash to put if in the valve cover? other? thanks

    remote oil filter(s) question

    from my own remote system on a buick v6, i found to much pressure drop with #8 lines. use #10 or #12 lines and only 1/2 inch pipe thread fittings.
