    Fuel additive for PHEV

I'm in the east coast, no 93 or 94, only 91 and no Chevron... I thought Esso was still Top Tier, I've look it over and a lot of gas stations are not in the Top Tier program anymore, what happened? I agree about the oil changes. Of the 16 000 km oil change, I expect about only about 5000 km of...

    Fuel additive for PHEV

The premium fuel here used to be ethanol free but I doubt it is anymore... That would have reassured me a bit. Also not a fan of putting additives in a brand new car, that's why I wanted input. Thanks!

    Fuel additive for PHEV

Hi BITOG, Been a while since I posted here, missed you guys. So, I just traded in my Forester for a Rav4 Prime, very happy about the switch. Being a PHEV, I can realistically go on months on a full gas tank, already going weeks without have the ICE starting. My concern is fuel related, since...

    2019 Subaru Ascent - Valvoline 0w20 - 4229 miles on oil

That's the best oil I've used in my FA20DIT. I also got confirmation from Shell that it is SN plus certified which should help for LSPI.

    Valvoline Extended Protection 5w30 FA20DIT

40k km later and I'm still using the RTMV, wonderful oil. It quiets my engine so much. I hope they will keep making it for a while.

2020 Subaru Legacy GT FA24 UOA Amsoil Signature Series 0w20 6000mi OCI

I have tried many oils in my FA20DIT (FA24's smaller brother) and ALL of the GF5 oils I have tried has sheared down a grade. Then I tried higher HTHS oils like Rotella Multi Vehicle 5w-30 and Mobil 1 ESP 5w-30 and they both stayed in grade while having less wear materials in the UOA. In my...

    2007 Rincon oil change

It will be in a garage, so I guess, -10c is the coldest start it will see.

    2007 Rincon oil change

I am in Canada where it gets down to -20 celsius often, does it mean I should get 0w-30? If so, is there such an oil with JASO MA?

Ultimate Durability, 4200 Mi., '18 Forester XT 20,300 miles

Sorry for reviving this somewhat old thread, but I have a 2015 Forester XT with the same engine and also used QSUD for a couple of oil changes with the same result. It even sheared down after only 2500 km... Actually, every GF5 oil I used in the past sheared down to a 20 grade. The best oils I...
