Anyone loyal to one brand of oil?

I am currently using Pennzoil 5W30 dino exclusively in both of my vehicles (04 Chev Cavalier and 99 Toyota Tercel)and expect that this practice will not change.

What 'brand" of oil do you notice other people buying?

People seem to buy more Quaker State dino than anything else followed by Castrol dino. Also, the 5L jugs of Valvoline Synthetic seem to be popular.

    2006 Chevrolet HHR

I like the look of the HHR as well and I like the price! Also, I prefer rear brake shoes. On the subject of GM's problems versus Japanese reliability, I have no doubt that in most cases Japanese autos are more reliable. However, people hear so much about it that it tends to get exaggerated...

    Those using M1 5w-30 SM Check-in here

I have been using 5W30 Mobil 1 in a 98 Toyota Tercel but plan to switch to either Pennzoil (dine or synthetic) or Valvoline synthetic because the Mobil 1 is too expensive. (When I first purchased the car I used Pennzoil dino and in terms of how the car sounds, etc., there is no difference...

2000 Acura TL 6-spd MT Conversion Project

A very close acquaintance had his second automatic transaxel replacement failing when he traded his 2000 Acura TL and it was still under (barely) power train warranty; and he babied his Acura!

    Champion Platinum Plugs

Actually, I've heard that at least for awhile, Champion was making the platinum plugs for a number of the brand name plugs mentioned. A close friend has an auto parts store and sells several major brands of sparkplugs. His experience has been that customer (including auto techs) satisfaction...

    Those Who Do 3K/3Mo OCI's Check-in

I do 3K/3mo oil change intervals with Pennzoil dino. I do it myself so the additional expense over longer intervals is not an issue for me. Also, I use it as an opportunity to check things out under the hood and under the vehicle.

    Brand loyalty poll

Further to my earlier posting on this thread, I should note that I have been using Mobil 1 synthetic in the car that my daughter drives. I've been using syn in that vehicle because it doesn't have a block heater. However, I'm thinking about switching it over to Pennzoil Platinum because it's...

    pennzoil

I see from your profile that you are an auto tech. Well, regarding Pennzoil and sludge, my father was an auto mechanic here at a high volume garage in Canada for over 30 years and he didn't see a single case of sludge in a motor caused by using Pennzoil.

Pennzoil Platinum and keeping engine clean

Here in this province of eastern Canada, Walmart's price for Pennzoil Platinum is much better than the price of Mobil 1 at any store.
