3.6 Pentastar viscosity done by clearance and temperature

Interesting, I'm getting ready to do another oil change on my JLU with the 3.6. I thought the revised 3.6 like I have was designed for 0w20 with thinner passageways and that was the best for it. Wrong?

How long til there are different prices of electricity at charging stations?

I'd like ethanol free electricity. Ethanol attracts water and water doesn't play good with electricity.

    EV Range Correlation to Longevity

It's not that tricky, they should meet or exceed an ICE car. My wife's X3 in Wisconsin winter can get 500 miles to a tank of gas easily, fills up in 4 minutes. My Wrangler, being a wrangler, can get 400 miles to a tank of gas, refills in 4 minutes, has solid axles etc, I would expect the same...

    Tonight's rental - 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe 2.0 turbo.

x2. I drive my JL cross country a few times a year, it is very comfortable. More comfortable than the other vehicles in my sig. The new GCs look nice, but aren't a real grand anymore, that ended in 04.

    P0420 - 05 Jeep Liberty 3.7

Got this code tonight on my Liberty. It’s an 05 with 229k miles. Looks like it’s for the bank 1 cat being below efficiency. Where to start? I’ve read that it automatically means a bad cat since to set that code both O2 sensors have to be working, but also have read the contrary. All the O2...

Cybertruck can't keep up offroad with Subaru crosstrek or Toyota 4Runner

The articulation of that thing on the trail is absolutely terrible, why even have a suspension.

Cybertruck can't keep up offroad with Subaru crosstrek or Toyota 4Runner

I'm from the area where that park is and I can't imagine there's any real off roading there. Been to that park before and didn't see anything unpaved that wasn't a hiking trail. Would love it if there was actual off roading there.

10 Midsize Trucks Battle For Top Off-Roader

None are as buildable as the JT and you can't beat the solid front axle for flex. Would not want to go back to IFS for real wheeling.

    Body flex Corolla cross.

You'd think any quality vehicle would be able to open and close doors on a non-level surface...we're not talking about taking a Corolla down the Rubicon trail...

    Body flex Corolla cross.

My old renegade was a unibody and never had issues opening doors or anything with it flexed out off road or teetering on 3 wheels. Never noticed that issue on any of my uniframe or unibody Jeeps or Land Rovers. Must be a Toyota quality thing.

    Quiet all terrains

Toyo Open Country AT3s. silent on road and are light weight so they don't impact MPG and power much. Great in the snow and off road, done a bunch of rock crawling and wheeling and never an issue. The Nokain Outpost is good too - a little bit more mild. But I like the Toyos...gives up nothing to...

A 2021 Wrangler 4xe is now in the garage

That's awesome. Love my JL. Any mods planned?

Active vs. passive suspension: your experience?

I like an air suspension if it's done right (cross linked side to side so it functions sort of like a solid axle off road), like how Land Rover does it. Otherwise I'm neutral on it. Neither of the Land Rovers in my sig have had significant issues with the air suspension (and the LR3 is at 230k...

    Thinking about a Wrangler 4xe

They're all cool - can't go wrong with any of them IMO. Wranglers are the last of a breed, that's for sure. The worst thing someone can do is buy one and not use it off road!
