What Brand Oil for a 2018 Buick Regal Sportback

Like most people say here, just use a 5w-30 Dexos oil and it’ll be fine. The thing to watch out for is that GM issued a TSB on using oil filters with too low of a by-pass pressure setting. It should be something above 20 psi. Some aftermarket ones are set too low. The good news is that the OEM...

    Shell RGT question

Not enough data to come to any sort of conclusion. It's just as likely that you got a tank of "bad gas" or something. For that matter, does anyone know what is the factory fill on a Kia Sorrento? They might have used a 5w-20 or 0w-20 as "break in" oil.

Supertech Syn now in 12qt boxes...

I just got one of these, but the price was on "rollback" to $20.00 even. $33 a box is a good price, but $20 (with no rebates involved) is outstanding.

NAPA Gold oil filter made by Mann+Hummel now??

    Fiat 124 Spider Abarth Oil

There are very few choices that "officially" meet the FCA MS 12991 specification. I'm cutting and pasting from one of my previous posts: Amsoil: they don't explicitly state that it meets the standard, but they recommend their Classic European Formula 5w40 Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w40. The oil...

    Super Tech Euro Spec Synthetic

Would you like to be the first to try Amazon Basics Euro 5w40? It's made by Warren too, but only claims the A3/B4 specification. it's entirely possible it's the same as the Supertech. But when you can get Castrol 5w-40 or Mobil 1 High Mileage 10w-40 at Wal-Mart cheaper, what's the point?

    RIP Art Bell

I loved listening to the show, but it spawned much of the conspiracy nuttiness that society is suffering from today. For example, I like how none of the disasters that were predicted on the show ever happened. Like Y2K. One of my favorite moments was when Art asked, in the way that only Art...

How is the Fiat 500L 1.4T DCT in reliability?

I'm unsure when they made the change, but I know the 2017's didn't come with the 9-speed ZF transmission that people complain about. The 2017, I believe, came with an 6-speed made by Asin which must be OK, because nobody talks about it. The 1.4 turbo engine has a reputation for being pretty...

    MS-12991 CHRYSLER OIL

I just was looking and Valvoline has a new PDS that does NOT mention MS-12991 anywhere. So, buyer beware.

    MS-12991 CHRYSLER OIL

If anyone is interested, I've been scouring the internet for oils that meet this standard and the pickings are a little slim here in the USA. Here is what I found: Amsoil: they don't explicitly state that it meets the standard, but they recommend their Classic European Formula 5w40 Pennzoil...

    new truck oil change

The difference between a 5w20 and a 0w20 is minor. They recommend the 0w20 because, at a minimum, the 0w20 is at least a synthetic blend. I'd rather have a good 0w20 synthetic than a 5w20 conventional.

Harvest King Full Synthetic 5W-30 VOA

I just traded in my Mustang. My new car uses Pennzoil 5W-40 Euro formula. It's $9.00 per quart! And they just opened a new Rural King 25 miles away from me! I bought two jugs of Harvest King I can't personally use and gave them to my sister for her car.
