    My auto trans started slipping yesterday and I getting ready to flush and change tranny fluid. Should I use Mercon III or Mercon 5? Any difference in brands of Mercon III? Should I be taking car to trans shop? Thanks for all replies. gh

    Black oil in 95 Crown Vic 4.6

    Recently I'v noticed the oil in my Crow Vic has been turning black. When checking level with a paper towel it seems to leave a fine particulate matter on towel.     5W-30 vs 5W-20

    Crown Vic is 95, Honda is 99 4 cyl and Corolla is 2001. I appreciate the info. The Ford uses some oil now. Would the lighter oil have a cleaning affect? I usually change between 3,000 and 4,000 miles.

    5W-30 vs 5W-20

    I've been using 5W-30 in my vehicles but found a good deal on some Pennzoil 5W-20 synthetic blend . Will it be a problem if I switch to 5W-20? I have a high mileage Ford Crown Vic, Honda Accord and Toyota Corolla. Thanks for responses

    Castrol synthetic blend vs Pennzoil synthetic blend

    My daughter just bought a 1999 Honda Accord 4cyl. I am considering one of these oils in 5W-30. Any thoughts as to which might be better? Also what is best filter for the buck? Thanks for all responses. gh
