Has anyone seen an analysis on GN4 oil on a motorcycle here? I couldn't find anything in a search and was wondering how their 10w-40 stands up?

You should be fine. Hold at a fast idle when warm several times to circulate coolant and cycle thermostat, topping off radiator when needed. Then fill the coolant recovery tank and let engine cool and it should pull in a small amount of additional coolant when it cools to outside temp. Top off...

Also, you have a flow from the pump through the heater core that is not dependent on T stat opening. Sometimes there is a valve controlling this flow and sometime it just flows from the pump, through the core and back into the engine.

If you have no heat in the winter you may also have a plugged heater core. These seem to plug up before the radiator in a badly neglected cooling system. Coolant should be changed out every several years along with brake fluid. What I would look for: 1. bugs, dirt, or some kind of restriction...

Have any unbiased longitudinal studies been performed on the cost-benefits of synthetic oils versus premium non-synthetic motor oils? I'm trying to justify why I would pay up to 3X more for a product and would like to see an unbiased objective study over time. thanks, Pat
