I saw in a Napa store there napa branded oil with a weight of 15w50. I see it was made by Ashland Oil which is Valvolines home company. It is not energy conserving oil at a regular oil price. May have to change it a little sooner though not sure. It will depend on how it feels in that bike...
Ford had a problem with some heads ticking on startup. You can attempt to mask the problem with heavy oil but the real fix requires heads to be replaced or lifters. I believe there is a service bulletin out on them. Big money if not under warranty.
Put on over 700 miles since putting amsoil 0-20 and other fluids in my vehicle. Mileage has not changed over the MC 5-20 but it seems to be quieter and the trans now shifts really smooth with the amsoil synthetic fluid in it. Very pleased with the overall package so far.
I have taken the Amsoil plunge also. My 01 Merc Grand Marquis has run MC 5-20 for the past 25000 miles with 5000 mile OCI vehicle now has 76000 miles on it. Now changed over to Ams 0-20 also flushed trans and put Ams synthetic trans fluid in and Ams severe gear rearend fluid in. Plan to run...
Stopped in Needles, Ca on I-40 highway to take a break and noticed all 4 gas stations there were at 3.99 a gallon there for regular 87. Thank goodness no gas was needed and just got back in and drove on up to las vegas. 3.09 there. That was a shock at what could be coming.
I would recommend a wet and dry compression test to determine if it is rings or valve leakage or use a leakdown tester to get better info to decide whether to do valve job or engine and run a complete compression test to determine other cylinders overall condition. What does it sound and look...
I believe the oil life monitor starts coming on when it has calculated there is 10-15 percent life left in the oil. It will come on more frequently and stay on longer until it is at zero were it wont go off. To let you know it is getting close and will have to be done soon.
That is a great...
We have a 03 Ford F650 with a 5.9 cummins and allison auto trans. Over 200000 miles on it. Problems with it has been it is on its third vp44 injection pump and multiple fuel injection line breakages which put diesel fuel into the engine wiring harnesses and made them into self peeling wires...
I have computers that are out in my workplace hear in Yuma desert that see 100 plus for months at a time. They get dirty and are used 6 days a week only thing I have had to do with these is clean them a couple of times a year. These machines run windows 2000 and are Pentium 3 chips. Have not...
The big problem with the little diesel engines put in the chevettes and tempos were they were extremely slow to get up to speed. No turbo option. The other problem was to find qualified people to work on them and get information on repairing them in the 80s. A lot of guess work was done on them...
