Thought I'd give an update... I was at 4650miles (factory fill0 and 1/2 qt low (turbo), so thought I should just do the 1st change rather than add 0.5qt. Manual calls for 4.8qt's. I go ahead and add the whole 5qt jug of Castrol 5w-30 Euro C3 version, sourced of off of Amazon. It barely comes up...

Switched to M1 0w-40 in my M54 powered X5 and it purrs like a kitten, and is noticebly quieter than when on BMW 5w-30.

I used GC in my XC90 with 2.5T and changed it every 5k. It was immaculate!

All the oils I am currently using are 2-3 certification generations old. I find it interesting that these 3 have not "evolved". I realize that these were all formulated to meet old standards. I particularly find the BMW 5w30 being SL rated interesting since it is marketed as changing to meet...

GC here!. Its been great in my M54 engine! What is the change history of the car? I would change it immediately and "baseline" all the fluids.
