    too late to reply? Well, VOAs for both Valvoline 5W40 versions show that, as expected, the SP has much more Moly and more Boron. Less Calcium and more Magnesium (not sure German engines suffer from LSPI). So going by an uneducated guess, the SP version could make the engine feel and sound...

    what I have so far seen is that while Valvoline says SP on their website for 5W40, I have yet to see an SP 5W40 in stores. They all still say SN on the container. It's been like this for over 6 months. If anybody has seen an SP or have seen a VOA, do tell. I haven't

    Apologies for a late comment, but is this an SP oil rather than SN? There is an SN Valvoline 5W40 VOA on this site, and it hardly has any Moly, and has a wealth of Calcium. This one seems to be SP (to me). Yet I haven't seen one in my local stores. Valvoline 5W40 Euroe SN...
