John Deere Low Vis. Hy Gard - Does it have sulfur?

Anyone know if JD's low viscosity Hy Gard tractor fluid has sulfer? Is it safe for applications that have brass gears. TIA

Best lubricant for small gear reduction motors??

The gears are a combination of brass, phenolic and plastic on stainless steel shafts. The bushings are usually bronze. The gears are not submerged in oil. There's only about 1mm of oil in the bottom of the case. It's fed up to the bushings by capillary action. (ie the sandwiched plates have a...

Best lubricant for small gear reduction motors??

I'm seeking recommendations for an oil to use in miniature timing motors which I rebuild. Up until now I've used M1 0W-20 and wonder if there's a more appropriate product. (ex: synthetic ATF??) These motors turn at 3600 RPM and reduction gearing brings them down to slower speeds such as 1 RPM...

    Air compressor oil

I have a similar issue. My IR compressor requires SAE40 or ISO 100 compressor oil which can't be found locally. M1 10W-40 is almost the same viscosity as ISO 100 at 40 degrees C. Does M1 10W-40 contain much ash or other [censored] that could clog the compressors valves. I could special order...

Can a 100 PSI/1 Stage compresor pump run air tools

Can a 100 PSI/1 Stage compresor pump run air tools

I need to replace just the pump on my air compressor. (Ingersoll Rand, 5 HP, 60 gallon tank). I found a real nice Quincy single stage twin cylinder pump but it's only rated 100 PSI max. That means that I would probably have to adjust my pressure switch for a cut in of around 80 PSI and cut off...

    Decent Floor Jack

I don't understand why anyone would want an aluminum jack unless they plan to transport it a lot from shop to shop. My floor jack works the garage and driveway only so I don't care how much it weighs. Aluminum jacks have poor capacity and poor lift height compared to similarly priced steel jacks.

Go to Costco and get an 3.5T Arcan. They're very highly rated, have dual action pumps and are low profile for Avoid Sears!! They're leakers.

If what you say about the current SK lineup is accurate, then it's very troubling. Through the years SK was every bit as good as Snap On and sometimes better. With no retailers, no distributers, no truck sales, warrantee replacement fees, union squabbles, diminishing hand tool demand and...
