    200k miles, Dino or synthetic

My Sienna V6 has 175K on it and I have been putting HM in it for the past 50K or so miles, before that I was running PP all of the time. M1 is too noisy and I seem to burn it. HM keeps good without having to add any in the 8K-10K miles that I keep it in. Cheers

    Toyota oil change

Since I am the original owner and have mixed town and highway usage, I will go with a PP change around 4K-5K, along with a carquest (Wix) filter change out. I may even get an OCA to see what things look like for the future. Thanks for the input!

    Toyota oil change

Ok, here's the deal. I have 86K on my Sienna V-6. I have changed the oil at 4,000 - 8,000 miles with dino oil. Last year, I used valv. high mileage synth blend 5-30. I went 8K miles with this. I am now running PP in it. Since their advertisements mention cleaning out a system, should I go with a...

    Toyota T-IV ATF Recommendations

I used Castrol Import Multi-Vehicle (meets T-IV) in my '04 Sienna with great results. I'm getting ready to change it again.

    M1 0W40 OK in my B&S?

I'm going to switch from 30W to 5W30, or even 0W30 for my 8.5 HP B&S. I am getting tired of it not cranking over very well when it is chilly out. I Might even go 5W40, summers here, in NC, are pretty hot.

    Oil for 2005 sienna

I have around 78K miles on my '04 Sienna. I ran conventional dino for the first 70K years and just switched over to 5W-30 Valv syn. blend. Every oil change has been very clean without any signs of sludge. These engines are very good. I plan on keeping for a long time.

    Funny oil change stories

My wife and I were discussing her aunt and how she used to change her oil. Her aunt, God rest her soul, was widowed for 30+ years. She was what was called a "Rosie the Riveter" in WWII. She used to weld parts for tanks at Sharon Steel, in Sharon PA at that time. Well, about 15 years ago she...

    Eco friendly, recycled oil?

IMHO, Most of the "better for the environment and Green" sales pitches are nothing more than that. A sales pitch. I'm a practicing environmental engineer and it frustrates me sooo much to see these worthless claims. Use what you think is the best oil for your vehicle and when you change the...

Should I be running HM oil?

Hard to imagine a Chev Citation as getting close to a classic car :-). My wife had one many of years ago when she was in high school. Wasn't that Chevy's first FWD vehicle? My '04 Sienna has 75K and I have been using Valv HM blend with good results. I've been going with around 7K-8K OCI. I'm...

    Castrol Import Multi-Vehicle

The tranny is shifting much smoother now. Since it's been over 75K, I was expecting something better!!! Cheers

    Castrol Import Multi-Vehicle

    Castrol Import Multi-Vehicle

Has anyone used this ATF? I have an '04 Sienna and bought this ATF on sale at AAP. I can't seem to find any info on it. I was going to go synthetic, but the price was right for these. Thanks

    2010 Nissan Altima 2.5

I'm running PP in my 2010 Rogue, which has the same engine. I did the first change at around 1100 miles. I will go with the 7500 mile interval, based on my driving style.

Calcium Bicarbonate as detergent: so what if?

I understand where you are coming from, but these tablets are loaded with fillers that you probably wouldn't want in your crankcase. Cheers!

Close up on Toyota/CTS gas pedal.

I am not one for conspiracy theories, BUT it sure is interesting that this is getting SOOO much media coverage AFTER the government has taken over Detroit. Are they that concerned with their built vehicles. I would buy a Toyota, as I have over the past 20 years before any Detroit vehicle. Cheers
