The labor to R&R the unit is killer on a Transit, Many transmission shops that won't touch one because the unit is so difficult to remove making a warranty repair painful.
Keep in mind, Dealers push factory remans once a vehicle is out of powertrain warranty....No matter what's actually wrong...
It's quite useful in practice, First design Ford 3V plugs are a perfect example, And even the 1 piece 2nd design can be a bear to remove without taking the engine for a hard run before attempting removal.
Marginal at best, I like to see 95-100 PSI.
87A is for the "Fuel Pump Prime Connector", You've probably seen a taped down red wire & a Packard 56 series female spade connector near the fuse box....Which is likely the only Packard 56 series connector used on a late GMT400's.

We need the DTC's before giving advice, P0894 is the DTC for Component Slip......As the PCM cannot distinguish between a TCC slip error & a 4th Clutch slip error, They call in "component slip", But it's usually the TCC slipping or not applying that causes P0894.

Tighten the band clearance with a Sonnax extra long band apply pin, Remove the spring from the Accumulator Valve, And block the 4th Accumulator with a 1/4" checkball. You don't want accumulator valve modifications to affect the 3-4 shift.

Can't say I've seen any similarities besides both being V8 diesels with similar displacement. You can tell the Duramax is Japanese designed from the hardware used (12, 14, & 17mm headed bolts) I could do without the Allen headed fastener's!!!
