My last analysis with 7600km was 15. That was with the Delo 400 5W40. Not really concerned as it is my first sample using Delo 15W40 so will trend this for a few OCI. Blackstone universal average is 17 in 5000 miles.
Pretty pleased with this sample. I removed my oilguard bypass and just ran a Fleetguard Stratapore. Going to run this oil to 10,000km and change it out. the 15W40 dino performed just as well as the 5W40 Delo Syn I used to run for 1/2 the cost.

He is crazy. With the high pressure oil responsible for operating the injectors in the 7.3L HEUI system, just how badly has he damaged them? Oil is cheap, new stock injectors are $2000.
When I lived in Edmonton I ran the 5W40 Delo and plugged in at less than -15C for an hour or 2 otherwise it romped pretty hard on startup. Did that even with the 15W40 AME I ran for one winter. Now that I live in in the BC interior (and have a heated garage) I shouldn't have any more cold...
Well I have an update. After dropping this oil I put the same Shaeffers back in for 1700km. Lead was at 7 already. Ran Delo 15W40 for a 1000km lead dropped to 3. Dropped that and went back to the Delo 5W40 CI-4 Synthetic. After 7674km of towing my 10k # fifth wheel through the Rockies I took a...
By any chance did you add an anti-foam additive?
I used fleetrite anti foam once and my silicon level spiked up from 6 to 20. Stopped using the fleetrite and now back to around 6
Yeah 4700km is 2900 miles. THe CJ-4 version of the 9000 that I am running starts at 10. I am going to dump it and try again...and hope for better results next time.
I am going to drop this oil when I get home and refill with the same 9000 5W40. All of the other wear metals are very close to the results I saw with the Delo 5W40 so it may very well be just the change in oils. I want to keep using the Shaeffers as I get great service from my rep here in Canada.
I am a little alarmed with this analysis. Just the lead though.
Everything else looks well within limits based on my previous samples. (Last lead content was 5)

I run 5W40 Chevron in my 99 Powerstroke. Starts easy in the winter. Good analysis results and very easy to find up here. Check the United Farmers of Alberta stores about $20 per gallon.
