Here it is!!! First TGMO 0W-16 UOA 2018 I4 Camry

Actually, CAM2 Synavex 0W-16"s 200 VI isn't higher than TGMO. If you raised the HTHSV of TGMO 0W-16 to the 2.4cP of CAM2 by adding 33% of TGMO 0W-20, the resulting VI of that heavier TGMO 0W-16 would be 203.

    ENOES Racing Street 0W-20

This would be my favorite 0W-20 if it wasn't so bloody expensive. If it was a buck or two more than the similarly formulated TGMO 0W-20 I'd buy it but not at THREE TIMES THE PRICE in Canada. It costs even more than Red Line's most expensive Powersport oils that are PAO/POE based. A few...

Here it is!!! First TGMO 0W-16 UOA 2018 I4 Camry

Not only is this the first TGMO 0W-16 UOA but it's the only 0W-16 UOA to date. I've had an interest in how Toyota formulates this oil since is was released and was hoping for a comprehensive VOA perhaps from PQIA but nothing to-date. So this UOA and the MSDS kinematic viscosity spec's will have...

M1 ESP Formula 0W40 (7600 km run for an 18 VW Golf R)

Interesting how the current versions of M1 0W-40 are universally a 30 grade oil in service and this "Vette" version is no exception. Of course with a virgin KV100 if just 12.9 cSt it only takes 2.5% shear to slip out of grade. Doug, with the conservative way you use the car; i.e , no track days...

    Redline Oil 0w20 Voa

Red Line primarily makes race or extreme performance oriented products. Their 0W-20 is a great product but not really suitable for any late model street driven vehicle where the 0W-20 trade is specified. It's Phos' level is higher than necessary as it's 2.9cP HTHS viscosity. Due to this oil's...

    VOA: BMW/MINI 0w-20 LL-14FE+

Thanks for reposting the VOA data. It's interesting to compare this Pennzoil made GTL oil to the PP dexos 1 0W-20 VOA that PQIA analyized earlier this year. The Ca and TBN are close but still a bit higher for the BMW/Mini version. The BMW/Mini oil has a somewhat lower Phos' level but with a bit...

High CCS viscosity with Group V oil ???

Hi Tom, Could you elaborate briefly on how the polar nature of esters is the reason for their low volatility and cleanliness? Are some esters more polar than others? Being electonegative, presumably the only metal they are attracted to are ferrous in nature? No attraction to aluminium alloys?

2014 Scion FR-S, road and track oil recs?

The maximum oil temp's you're seeing of 220F on the street and 230F when autocrossed aren't high enough to warrant running anything heavier than the spec' 0W-20 for you modestly powered FR-S. The 0W-20 I'd recommend is Toyota's own 0W-20 made by Mobil for it's very high VI and above average AW...
