    Cigar Smokers?

I've settled over the last few months on a couple of the Oliva's - the Serie V and the Master Blends 3 are my current everyday smokes. Really fine cigars.

Will be 69 in April and just rescued a Jack Russell puppy...that says a lot about my energy level.

End of a Era - Les Schwab tires

My son worked for them and loved the company, especially the esprit de corps among the other twenty something employees. We got the favored employee tour of the enormous facilities in Prineville and were very impressed. But when the old man died, the executives moved the administration to Bend...

He and Cream were a big part of several years of my youth. Sad to see him go. Goodbye, Red Skeleton.

    Oregon highway 101 and Subarus.

The Oregon coast is beautiful and we go several times a year, but we've learned (since our kids grew up) to avoid it between June 15 and August 15. Just too crowded and the shoulder seasons are much more relaxing and the weather is more interesting. Speaking of Subarus, you can count the pastel...

    Hard tonneau?

I've been very happy with the Extang Encore. As mentioned, it folds from the cab or the tailgate, locks with the truck key, and it can be installed, removed, and stored very easily, and it's built like a tank.

Who makes good garden hose nozzles?

I like the fire hose type and own one, but I never use it for things like washing the cars or watering plants. You'll need two hands to adjust the flow and turn it off and it's more fussiness than I care for when doing those things. I much prefer a trigger set for one handed use.

    August 28th, 2013

My son is currently serving with the 10th Mountain in the Kandahar province, but due to redeploy to Ft Drum within days. We've seen these sort of reports during his two deployments to Afghanistan and they shake to my knees every time. His mother and I wake up every morning and our first...

    Niki Lauda

One of the greatest personalities in any field. I followed F1 and open-wheel racing fanatically through the seventies and eighties, and knew that NL lived at a gut level like few others. He won't fade away easily. I was thrilled recently when I discovered the current display at Griot's Garage...
